Cheers, my fellow Taurus.
We had a cake at work today for all April birthdays. So in honor of you, me, Katzi 428, (great week to be born!) and anyone else out there I made a wish and blew out a candle for you.
Hope you like yellow cake with lemon filling.
I vaguely remember this. 1990 was special because they actually moved Earth Day up to the 21st (my birthday!). That was the only time they ever did that, so it was really special to share my birthday with the planet.
And Earth Day always reminds me of Sesame Street's "We Are All Earthlings"...
His anatomically-correct body suit used to raise a few eyebrows when I was little.
Maybe it's the lower intestine.
For some reason I used to think he and Richard Simmons were the same guy.
Compared to a lot of other drivel out there, "Wimzie's House" wasn't THAT bad.
Maybe not on a par with "Puzzle Place" or "Between the Lions", but still leagues ahead of maybe... something like... oh, I don't know... ...."Peppermint Park"?
I'm hoping to get tickets to see Dave one more time, before they become impossible to find. If not, I'm happy to have seen him once.
I'll bet you anything, since Bill Murray was his very first guest, he'll be his last one as well.
Mickey Rooney and Shirley Temple both auditioned for Our Gang/The Little Rascals but never joined Spanky and Company. But one of Mickey's sidekicks from the "Mickey McGuire" series did make it in to the Gang. Kendall McComas (aka "Breezy Brisbane")
only made a handful of Rascals shorts before...
"Raymond" is one of the few shows in recent memory I actually like. Even though my wife got all seasons on DVD, somehow when they show up on TVLand, I catch an episode I never saw before. Maybe I'll get tired of it in a few years, but for now, I can still enjoy it.
Oddly enough, I don't like...
Go and watch the original Muppet movie, and that should put a smile on your face, and hopefully ease your nightmares. Just try not too hard to compare the two.
I'm sorry some of you are having such a hard time just being able to view these episodes. People like Katzi and me were around when they first aired, and they really were truly special. To have a week of episodes so far removed from the Street was such a radical idea. (Worked well with Hawaii a...
Wow, great score. I've been lucky enough to meet a few Muppet stars up close like that, but not to the same degree as you. Carroll Spinney came close (after waiting almost two years to finally meet him). But sometimes the best things in life are well worth waiting for. I'm really happy for your...
Possibly move to Nashville.
On a more ambitious note, see at least one day without any wars in the world. In the last 2,000 years, I think there was only 15 where nobody was fighting anybody. Time to briug that ratio up.
Yes indeed. Lefty tries to sell Ernie the snowman for a dollar. But the sun is out, and as time goes by the snowman keeps melting, so Lefty has to offer bigger discounts.
In the end, the snowman melts away, and Lefty tries to sell Ernie a "puddle of water" for the bargain-basement price of five...
I think it helps to let kids know, it can be easy to imagine monsters and scary things that can induce nightmares (some early clips with Beautiful Day did just that to me). But it's just as easy to imagine peaceful things and nighttime doesn't have to be a scary place.
But it does take a...
You have to have a few years under your belt to remember him, but David Brenner was a hilarious stand-up comic during the 80's, and frequently stood in for Johnny Carson (gave Jay Leno a good run for his money).
Had one outstanding bit, "New York vs. L.A.", that was included on a CD box set...
The first two "Death Wish" films were really decent, but there was no point in stretching it out to four sequels. One was plenty. Charles Bronson goes on a vigilante crusade cleaning up the city streets of murderers, gang bangers, and drug kings. (Sonia Manzano from "Sesame Street" had a bit...
