Oh and Heralde...the movie posters...TRUE art. I HATTTTE(ok hate is a strong word), I greatly dislike the modern bad photoshop jobs they used on every single muppet poster. Why cant they do group shots with the posers or puppets instead of lame photoshop jobs? But yeah I miss the art on posters...
I saw the Muppet movie on beta in the very early 80's at my cousin's house. I was absolutely in awe. Especially when Animal blew up. I would subsequently see it many times after that. I however got to see TMTM in theaters opening day after school as a surprise, and its because of that its...
Like the travel by map gag, or walter leaving an outline of himself in the wall, sometimes I realize(least for myself) its best not to ponder these sort of things regarding the Muppets:)
They made him cut Suckerpunch to a pg-13, read that somewhere about Snyder. When you see it, it feels like an R rated film...at at least a hard PG-13...i think it woulda made just as much or more as a rated R film. I HAAAAAATE when films that should be rated R get neutered to be pg-13.
For almost 60 years Jim Hensons vision and message of laughter, celebration, kindness, sillyness, friendship, etc.has bounced around the globe via muppets, sesame, fraggle, bear, etc...but...
As much as it's been surreal to see the new film not only get marketed beyond belief and the INSANE...
What hate? I see Pepe getting hate from some in the Muppet fandom world. But Scooter? Like Rowlf he's beloved beyond belief.
No idea what you guys are talking about. So amazing his voice is now spot on, and he had such a prominent role in the new movie. He's really the closest personality wise...
They just might have it! It was the last place Id expect to see it. I had an easier time finding this than the EW Kermit cover, which to this day I still havent seen. I see Wired with Bunsen and Beaker in more places than Wired. In a way, the total lack of muppet merch is making these little...
I have a fondness for when Sesame Street and Muppets were interchangeable. Youd see Sesame people on the Muppets and vice versa. Heck Mahna's cousin Boppity was on Sesame Street and a picture of Dr Tooth can be seen in one episode.
I LOVED how seamless Sesame Street guys were on the first three...
Certainly it has to be better than the "Kermit" we saw with Lady Gaga at the MTV awards interview(I think Steve was on vacation or something so he couldnt be there)
Yeah its funny how the film mirrors the real life situation...where the muppets are always pushed to the side to make way for something else. Hopefully that all changes and they take center stage. I hope a big part of D23 is muppety like it was in 2009
I wish. Im still waiting for the Fox 2002 Kermit/Pepe pitch tape, the mockumentary mini series and American Idol spoof pilot. But from what I read its alternates doing the Muppet voices so it may be a bit off. Im curious what a non Goelz Gonzo sounds like tho
For people saying that pg family films have to meet a certain timeframe, Harry Potter's numerous films have often been well over 2 hours. The Muppets isnt all goofy slapstick like most modern family films, as theres many serious/tearjerking elements.
Again I seriously doubt any person would be...
I was a crazy hardcore Star Wars fan in the 90's, and almost went to the first ever Star Wars celebration in 1997. Just when the new prequels came out I lost a lot of my star wars fandom. Tho I LOVE Revenge of the Sith and consider it my second favorite Star Wars film under Return of the Jedi...
The fun thing about muppet canon, is that there isnt really any set canon. They play with it at will. And in interviews talk about how there is no real canon. its been stated in interviews Gonzo is NOT an alien, and it only pertains to MFS.
But its fun for fans to come up with their own fan...
HOLY MOLLY OF GOODNESS! My local safeway grocery store just randomly got this issue in(was super surprised) and *faints* This has got to be the most INSANELY awesome Muppet magazine special I have ever seen...at least since the 1995 Variety special and the 80's Muppet magazines.
The $16 price...
Im really wanting to get to go to Disneyland(or heck if I had the money to fly, WDW) next summer.
Im kicking myself for not being able to go last minute to D23 2009, which seemed like a mini muppetfest(anyone here got to go?)
Every year Disney usually has a special...except this year. 2009 it...
Yeah exactly, all the massive cuts makes Tex super 1 dimensional and a trivial aside plot device.
I LOVE the idea of a "bad ending" that has a positive side. That happened at the end of Reel Steel. I have no issues with that part of the ending. In fact I hate the almost missable newspaper flash...
