I usually dont like the creepy Zemeckis mo cap stuff(tho Beowulf 3d was fun, and I liked both Final Fantasy cgi films) but yeah Tin Tin looks ridiculously adventurous. I just wish theyd also do an old school style animated film, like how they do both the modern Curious George and classic style...
got my new episode up!

AND! I made a video blog about black friday and the muppets/disney store plushes

Oh nice. Workers at both Disneystores near me said there was no deals on the Muppet stuff, so I guess it wasn't a nationwide standard. Then again one of the hot topics near me decided theyd do 50 percent off for the last two hours of store hours, but I didnt see anything I wanted. Spencers had...
Yeah, looking back you're right...there is indeed a number of films and franchises that didn't get a big merchandise push from Disney until the dvd hit and even after that. When Toy Story hit in 1995, I remember some of the only toys were the Burger King figures. TS3, that saturated the...
Mmm...I literally could watch hours of that footage if it existed. Is this stuff included in the newer Disney rerelease? If not, it's a shame.
It's funny how much more adult/grown up that film is compared to modern kids and family films. But overall I can't begin to describe what it is about...
Well it's funny, Steve and Eric performing K and P are very adamant to interviewers in recent press junkets that what happens in the movie and other movies/specials is just acting. That they aren't actually married and that it's all just a movie. I thought it was clever how this new film...
Couldn't have said it better! I really wish they would make a truly classic Muppet film that harkens back to that...but in today's climate, it'd be hard to pull off. When you see that film, it looks so real and organic. There's no real quick cuts, fantasy randomness or things that seem out of...
The next time you have 2 hours of free time, watch the Muppet Movie from beginning to end. Download a torrent of it if you have to.
No true Muppet fan should be without seeing what everyone here would agree on is Jim Henson and the Muppet's grand magnum opus masterpiece.
In the "Muppets 2011" film, they have fun with the "meta" notion that the original Muppet movies are movies the Muppet gang made and starred in(and Walter was a fan of) *and* that the original films are loose canon and references within the movie itself. I was just meaning in the overall...
Kermit and Piggy are not married, only in TMTM. People forget that the only real canon or continuity is when Muppets give interviews on tv or print. They're all just actors, and each movie is kind of it's own separate canon. Even the new movie is a separate canon, as it pretends the TMS show...
Man I seriously feel bad for kids who were dragged to Arthur Xmas, Hugo, Happy Feet 2, and Puss and Boots!
So hoping a grassroots word of mouth plus an organic explosion of viral internet meme catch phrases culled from the new film happens:)
So glorious. I want to see the Muppets over...
As the years pass I like MFS more and more. I certainly loved seeing it in theatres.
Id say my top list would be:
1. The Muppets Take Manhattan
2. The Muppet Movie
3. The Muppets
4. Muppets From Space
5. Letters To Santa
6. Follow That Bird
7. Very Merry Muppet Xmas
8. Great Muppet...
Well, Disney can claim in this coming week's tv spots "Its Official, The Muppets Are The #1 Family Film In America". Family meaning family/children/non adult animated/etc. It beat the pants off Happy Feet 2, Hugo, Puss and Boots and Arthur Christmas. It's still so surreal the review percentage...
Heh, in grade school we had moldy beiged boxed old Apple computers with green monochrome screens. Oregon Trail for the win!
LOVE that! Favorite new meme potential quotable quote from the film
I think it feels heartbreaking to see what happened to him, but for me it wasnt til he opens the door and is practically living on the street in a back alley where it really hits you. I was just in Reno, even walked by where this casino was...that whole city really is that insanely depressing...
@Dr Tooth: So glad you know who Kon is and dig his work. I saw Paprika and Perfect Blue in theaters, amazing. Especially Paprika. They truly are psychological thriller art films. And I LOVVVED Tokyo Godfathers. Millennium Actress was so so. But yeah, genius.
Yeah it takes me out of the film...
Thanks. I just googled "Muppets Marvel" to see if Disney had officially released any more mashups like Capt America Sam Eagle, and saw some really good fan ones. This one of course with Beaker as X-men's cyclons and Wolverine being played by Animal (innnn conntrollll) :)...
Miyazaki doing...live action? Only a few anime directors make that transition(Momoru Oshii being one of them)
Well, there was the Dark Crystal and Labyrinth mangas(well Ameri-manga) I could imagine an anime like Labyrinth!
Well it's just from certain angles and lighting, Fozzie to me looks like he has matted shiny plush toy hair. Not sure whats up with that, but yeah the rest of the Muppets(cept for Gonzos eyes/post 2009 face sculp imho) could not look more perfect. Rowlf, Scooter, Piggy, my goodness. And all the...
That is odd how the film uses the original 70's logo, but all marketing uses the (sorry to say, but) insanely generic font which is far from Muppety.
Im just curious, why does Disney put the Muppet section way in the back and out of site? It almost seems like they're embarrassed or something...
