Bear arrives on Disney+ The beloved series has been off the air for the past 15 years. Now all four seasons are finally available for a whole new generation.
I feel really bad about not watching Phantom Investigators when it first premiered on Kids' WB back in 2002. It's a supernatural show about four ghost-busting kids (all of whom except the leader have a special power) that was created by Stephen Holman, the creator of the Life with Loopy segments...
You know, I thought 2nd episode in which the genderqueer Milo made his proper debut (and yes, I'm using that pronoun rather than the awkward "their" in the show as his VA is a female-to-male transgender, screw your feelings) would be totally obnoxious with him shoving his ideology in everyone's...
Mort was even responsible for coining comic book terms like "briffits" (dust clouds from a character running off the scene), "plewds" (sweat drops), "squeans" (starbursts representing illness or intoxication), and most importantly, "grawlixes" (those symbols used to censor out naughty words...
Just watched the first two 11 min. episodes, and I'm into it. I like how Phillip is a safety nut, but not to the point of being a killjoy, nor is D.D. reckless to the point where she puts her best friend in danger. The two are pretty nuanced characters.
I enjoyed the episode where D.D. thinks...
Jumping to conclusions much? Sure, we had Walter, but I don't remember him hogging the spotlight in the two movies he had a major part in, yet after that, he just disappeared. I doubt Summer is going to be the same just because three characters aren't in it. If anything, I would like Summer to...
I'm more broken up about the lack of Rowlf and Scooter, who were there since the musical number that birthed them in MTM. Skeeter less so, seeing as how she was essentially created to fill a personality quota and has barely existed outside of the show, as Drtooth said many times in the past...
For TV-quality CGI, it looks really good in terms of texture work and lighting. The imagination sequences even seem to be made out of cardboard and cutouts, which is an interesting design choice.
And you gotta love a penguin with a name as ironic as "Summer". :)
Another thing I genuinely want to see is a furthering of Minerva Mink and Wilford Wolf's relationship. Will she be able to like him outside of his hunky Chippendale-esque werewolf form? :)
Justin Timberlake is going to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show this year. So does that mean Janet Jackson will make a surprise appearance and rip his pants off exposing his you-know-what? :D
So Jumanji is still at the top this weekend, and the only new release to make in the top 3 was The Commuter at #3. And Paddington 2 sat all the way down at #7 with a lower take than the 1st in spite of being released in the same month, and even worldwide it's made less. So I don't expect it to...
And it wasn't so much for the vulgar content, but for it constantly going over budget and behind schedule. If they did have a problem with the gross-out stuff, then why were the episodes produced without him sometimes more reliant on it?
After seeing the tear-jerking finale where Foo and Fee's parents finally reunite and take them back to their homeland, along with an origin story of how they first met Harvey, it's really making me yearn for a spin-off sequel where we get to see life in their new home, perhaps set a couple years...
I honestly wouldn't mind at least one sequel as long as it was given the same love and care. Maybe it could further Snoopy's relationship with Fifi, or even give his siblings more screen time. :)
