Since D'Snowth bumped this thread, I thought I'd share my two most ambitious YouTube Poops I uploaded fairly recently...
This drug education video from 1993 was SO WEIRD, it was BEGGING to be made into a YTP. You'd swear the creative team (which includes some Simpsons artists, hence the...
Yep, and I also heard some Jay Ward/Rocky and Bullwinkle sound effects in it! (Especially the signature Bullwinkle explosion sound when the dynamite "19" blows up.) And coincidentally I've heard a few of those stock Major Records sound effects on Rocky and Bullwinkle as well (like the Count von...
Heh, and then D'Snowth showed me this interview with Dick Maitland on FaceBook, where he shows off one of his sound effect gadgets for making bell and buzzer sounds, like for doorbells, telephones, game shows, alarms, etc...
Having watched so many old "Sesame Street" episodes and segments, I have been able to gather information on where many of the sound effects heard in the street scenes and cast/Muppet segments from 1969 up to the early 80s came from, as the sound effects were a lot more unique back then...
One...
I agree about the set decorating, how it looked more like autumn than winter. I know NYC hasn't had a white Christmas since 2002, but this is ridiculous! At least it looked like some Christmas lights were still up, so that was a fairly realistic touch.
And yeah, I'm pretty sure Joe Fallon or Ken...
I really enjoyed seeing Julia on the float with the other "Sesame Street" Muppets, even though they didn't have Herry Monster with them anymore. Oh well, a fair trade for me! And Julia was so close to Elmo and Abby Cadabby and their sidekick Big Bird, too!
Aside from that female pop singer I...
At least NBC announced "the cast of Sesame Street" during the opening lineup this year, unlike last year. But they made NO other mention of any floats or balloons during the opening as well. Of course as we know, NBC couldn't care less about those (they consider them "And the rest", in most...
Even though I'm basically guessing, I have a hunch the 1992 re-recording of Sam Pottle's theme to "Monsterpiece Theater" was orchestrated by Dave Conner. It sounds like something he would've done, with that lush orchestral feel.
I've seen that thumbnail as well. I knew right off the bat it was just a digitally-colorized version of that photo we've seen numerous times before, and figured it was another video explaining about how that episode is currently lost.
Plus, I can tell that footage was edited, since the witch...
Back on topic, here's another one of those bizarre Etienne Delessert cartoons from either 1973 or 1974 that hasn't been found in English yet. I'm guessing it's a reimagining of the fable with the moral "Don't count your chickens before they've hatched."
I wonder if this is partly where the...
Definitely Grover. But I've noticed how Frank Oz has a tendency to ham up virtually all Muppet characters he performs, including on "Sesame Street." Grover has many hammy moments, but so does Cookie Monster, and Bert sometimes does as well. And then there's all those minor and one-off characters...
I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being similar to the Paul Lynde Halloween Special that Margaret Hamilton reprised her role as the Wicked Witch of the West in, ALSO from 1976...
Though in this, the Wicked Witch is a bit more comical and fun-loving compared to her truly terrifying portrayal...
And I'm also reminded of when PBS unofficially banned Episode 3833 from being rerun due to how CTW and PBS found it a bit too scary, where Telly keeps seeing a mysterious alien-like "X" appear out of fog and it references "The X-Files" quite a bit.
BUT, it resurfaced on cable some years...
Yeah, I was wondering if any other "nightmare fuel" segments were included, like some of Etienne Delessert's really bizarre cartoons (such as the ogre face on a hill with the Irish music, the mutant rabbit chasing kids to fast rock music, or the "face morph" ones), the Crack Master (though given...
Pretty cool! Bob doesn't look that much different from how he did in the 1990s. Hard to believe he's 86, and he's still going strong. He's just amazing.
This morning, SesameWorkshop uploaded a fun new video to the official Sesame Street YouTube channel...
Gordon reads us the 1992 Sesame Street book "We're Different, We're the Same." Elmo and Abby Cadabby make a few appearances too. It's a nice little video, and I especially enjoyed it as I...
I noticed according to Wikipedia and the Muppet Wiki that the airdates for Season 7 and 8 seem somewhat in accurate. Well, on Wikipedia the airdates for Season 8 seem accurate, but it says Season 7 began airing on December 2, 1989 with "It's Only Pretendo." I don't think that's true. Consider...
