I don't know the inner workings of Boom! as a company or how they organise their releases, but I'd advise everyone to take any published release dates with a grain of salt.
These dates are set far ahead of schedule, regardless of where the comic actually is in terms of production. Any number of...
How about we all just agree that each Muppet 'property' - Muppet Show, each individual movie, Muppet Babies etc has its own canon and we should treat these comics likewise?
If I were writing original Muppet Show comics, I'd use the tv show canon and leave it at that, but every creator working...
Hey, look who's here :)
Welcome, Grace!
And we have a Pan thread now, yay.
So yeah. Nothin' to report on my end, work-in-progress, yadda yadda.
Guys, we're posting under our real names, you KNOW we can't give away spoilers, and that includes casting.
You'll find out when further covers hit...
Bean is playing Michael.
Petersen did his cover probably long before mine, while casting was still tentative. I am told his cover will be changed to Bean before release date.
Welp.. I dunno if anyone wants to start a Peter Pan thread, but the first two covers are officially solicited in June Previews:

*grumble* Why am I not credited as artist?...
Here's my cover, anyway. Dave Petersen does the other one...
Hey, don't blame me, my Robin Hood cover doesn't come along until issue 4! ;p
Nah. It just depends on which stories are ready to be assigned artists and who is available who has been approved by Disney.
I would have leapt on the chance to draw Robin Hood as I know Tim Beedle and have worked...
It's more the running confusion in having Kermit as 'Robin' when his own little nephew NAMED Robin is also running around in there.
It's a funny thing with these adaptations. Even when the Muppets are playing other characters, it's very hard to not continue to call them Kermit, Piggy etc :D
I...
Time to blow some dust off the thread.
Muppet Robin Hood #1 is now ON for a May 27th release.
It's right there on Boom's 'Coming Next Week' list.
I figured they'd just delay it by a month and they did.
I wish Muppet News Flash would list their source, I want to know who leaked the basic plot.
In other news, according to Boom's website, Robin Hood #1 WILL be out next week, so yay for Armand and Tim!
Also Muppet Show #3 - Gonzo's story.
Disney are very keen to use the Muppets, so if it were EASY to get these series sets out, they would have done it by now.
It's not Disney's fault that the Muppet Show has so many songs that need clearance and fees paid to use them and these things take TIME to negotiate and complete.
Disney may...
I have Season 3 running right now as I'm drafting up my next two Muppet covers.
I think my favourite episodes are the ones where the guest stars absolutely throw themselves into the show and are clearly having a blast being characters as over-the-top as their Muppet hosts. Peter Ustinov, Spike...
Dr Tooth is right.
The 'default' comic has 2 separate covers which all stores sell.
Each issue, however, has at least one different 'retail variant', sold as a ltd edition of 500 by only one store (Ultimate comics, midtown etc).
The holofoil covers are usually convention specials, also ltd to...
That's been known for ages - the license granted to Boom! by Disney is only for North America and Canada, it's not a worldwide one.
So all the Pixar and Muppet comics can't be sold in stores outside of US or Canada. Just the way it is.
Find a friend in the US and have them buy them for you.
Well, apparently Ultimate Comics DOES have my variant cover, because I got 5 copies in the mail on friday.
There's still no mention of it on Ultimate's website, so I'm darned if I know how people can order these :/
Cover here!
The casting is indeed already set and the comic is already in production.
I can't stop anyone from speculating about it, so no skin off my nose if people want to discuss it.
Just don't expect any confirmations from me and I'll stay out of the conversations.
Sam's not Prince John, he's the Sheriff of Nottingham.
Remember that these storybook adaptations are good-natured send-ups, especially with the Muppets doing them. The Sheriff as usually depicted in popular culture is a bully, but also something of a buffoon. He exists for Robin to bamboozle...
Not that I'm aware of. The design of that cover was a very specific request by Midtown, so I'd say any resemblance to Muppets Take Manhattan was a deliberate parody. But I have heard of no legal problems with it at all.
I did the cover as requested, it went onto Midtown's shelves just fine and...
