Welp, if PegLeg Wilson 2 is now out, time for the variant cover!
Simpler design than some of my other covers, but the deadline was tight and I think Roger has the lock on 'chaotic cover art' for the time being ;)
Indeed. While it's very awesome that Boom! have licenses for all Pixar movies as well as the Muppets, you have to be careful not to flood your own market.
This is a good thing, having one Muppet adaptation at a time.
Release Update, peoples!
Okay, so someone mentioned in the other comic thread that they thought Pan would be released in Sep AFTER Robin Hood was complete.
As it turns out, this is absolutely correct.
Initially Pan was scheduled for release end of August, but because Robin Hood was delayed by...
Thanks frogboy, much obliged.
Yes, Muppet Peter Pan #1 ships on 28th August.
So does Monsters Inc., which I'm also drawing.
Oh godddd, so much work to do @_@
Hey, anyone know what happened to the Muppet Peter Pan comic thread?
It's out in 2 weeks, why would it just disappear?
Anywho, until we find it again, may as well post this.
Muppet Peter Pan #3 Cover B
For some reason, most sites are only listing Dave Petersen's A cover. Well, that just won't...
For anyone keeping track, my retail variant for Peg Leg Wilson #1:

Had a lot of fun with this one. I'll be likely doing retail variants for the whole Peg-Leg Wilson arc.
Yes.
Each story arc (4 issues) will be compiled and released as TPB when the initial run is over. Incredibles and the first 4 Muppet Shows are already gearing up for release.
Peter Pan's compilation is apparently slated for next March.
I don't think hardcover will be done, just paperback...
yeah, as I'm sure I've mentioned once already - Boom! is not really a retailer, they're just the publisher and physically, they're not a BIG publisher either. The office staff is about a couple dozen people if that, so I imagine there isn't some dedicated system of order-filling and delivery...
Okay, just to clarify what I said that sparked this whole debate:
While Disney and Boom! have a certain marketing directive in mind in making these comics kid-friendly, that's not to say we as creators don't do our best to make these comics enjoyable by everyone. I call it the Pixar Method -...
Minor Muppetz, I'm going to give you a straight but honest answer.
I extremely doubt surveying fans for comic ideas will happen because:
a) there are plenty of writers already pitching ideas for fairy tales and other Muppet adaptations and
b) more importantly, these comics are not "for the...
That would indeed be awesome and I'd happily take a crack at it.
But that's up to Boom! and Disney. Who knows, if Disney have anything planned to revive Muppet Babies, a comic might have a chance at fruition. Copyright laws would make the show's trademark 'insert footage from other movies'...
Erm.. none of them?
I've said it before, I'm just not much of a fan of stuff made after Jim died. I'm more a Henson fan than a fan of everything Muppety, so I prefer to stick to the pre-1991 catalogue. No offense intended to anybody, of course, that's just my personal preference.
Whom I'm...
Funny thing, I ADORED Muppet Babies when I was a kid. Absolutely my favourite cartoon, along with Astro Boy.
But again, no, I don't use Muppet Babies as reference. They're their own thing.
My reference materials:
* Muppet Show DVDs - I use these with a grain of salt because in these early...
Not consciously, as far as I know.
But then, I'm from animation, so it's probably more natural that I'm going to draw characters to principles of animation character design. Very rounded, solid construction, not too much stylisation.
That's just one way of doing it, anyway ;)
Well, this should fill some more gaps on everyone's Casting Bingo Card:
Boom now has listings up for Issue 2
I have no IDEA why I am not listed as artist. Better go e-smack someone about that.
Closer shot of my B cover:

I can't give away progress reports, but for favourite characters, it's actually a tough call. I love drawing them all because they pose so many challenges in terms of acting. They're tough, but in a good way.
When most of them have fixed eyes, you have to dissect how the puppet is constructed to...
Oh, by the way, I think it's safe to post this now:
http://mimi-na.deviantart.com/art/Muppet-Show-4-Piggy-variant-127614539
My retail variant cover for issue #4. I assume that, like all the others, it's for Ultimate Comics, but don't quote me on that.
Absolutely, and it's a risk any fan of ANY fandom will take whenever spinoff properties are concerned.
I know both Armand Villavert and Tim Beedle and they're both awesome guys. I have read the script for #4 and think it's **** hilarious. I would jump at the chance to draw a Tim Beedle Muppet...
Yeah, I can imagine how frustrating it must be to have to wait for people who order from the publisher. I don't really know what to advise there. As I said, I'm just one of many paid artists, I'm not privy to how the company itself operates.
You might be better off ordering from a comic store or...
