No; I'm usually logged in from at least two machines as well. I wouldn't have thought that would make any difference though! Surely it's my last visit to the thread, not the forum, that should reset the system?
This isn't a serious problem, but I figured I'd report it :-)
I receive the usual email whenever there's a new post in a thread I'm subscribed to. This mail includes the sentence "There may be other replies also, but you will not receive any more notifications until you visit the forum...
Yeah, that's right. I can't see them either - my right eye's optic nerve never developed properly, so all I get from that eye is a blurred image. For example, I'm typing this sitting about 12 inches away from my laptop's screen, and with my right eye I can't even read what I'm writing! And a...
VCD (VideoCD) was an early attempt to put digital video into the consumer marketplace. It flopped. The playing time of a VCD is the same as that of a CD - 74 or 80 minutes. Most DVD players (probably all of them by now) will play VCDs without problems.
However, the compression scheme used...
That's the one I've got. But I have definitely seen the "ha!" logo as well - in fact, I taped at least one show off Nick about ten years ago (which I didn't keep - grrr) which had it.
My guess at this point is that "ha!" was used on the UK tapes, and "hit!" on the non-UK tapes, in much the...
Ok, as follows: the same shot (blue Zoot, no hat) was used in Seasons 1 and 2. The shot changed for Seasons 3-5; Zoot now wears his hat. In both cases, Zoot just plays the note on his sax, and the ATV/ITC logos were superimposed over the picture.
The shot where Zoot shakes the instrument...
Yeah. That replaces the normal Statler & Waldorf comments...but: on the soundtrack *after* this shot, instead of Zoot's saxophone blast there is a loud mooing. Same shot of Zoot, though :-)
I was watching this one last night, and as it's a current copy, the final shot of the titles (Zoot blowing the last note on his sax) was replaced by the current Henson logo. However, the soundtrack contains a sudden burst of laughter from the audience at this point...
I'm speculating that...
I think you may have misunderstood me! The disc contains the three shows, the three 'Fairy Tales' and a game. There is no clips compilation, and contrary to initial pre-release information, 'A Celebration of 30 Years' is not on the disc either :-(
I believe "The Muppet Show" hit the top of the UK charts in 1977.
"Halfway Down The Stairs" was released as a single, and reached #7 in May 1977.
"The Muppet Show Music Hall EP" reached #19 in December the same year.
And Animal's single "Wipe Out" reached #38 in July 1996...
I stand corrected :-) Regions 1 and 4 on the same disc is still a weird mix, though! Is the disc NTSC or PAL?
Nice of Disney to do a widescreen release - I assume this is anamorphic? - but a shame that they grabbed the wrong print *again*!
Yup, although I'd always expected it to be two discs, even in a single release.
The series was made on 35mm film. The transfers *should* be direct from the original prints. If they've been dumb enough to take the NTSC video transfers and convert them to PAL, the results will be appalling...
It's marked as region 1 *and* region 4? This does not sound like an official release to me. Region 1 is the US, which uses NTSC, and region 4 is Australia, which uses PAL. It is highly unlikely that you'd find a disc flagged up for both regions.
Obviously I haven't seen it so I can't be...
Here's hoping that it's the UK edits! Even better: the UK edits of the first 12 shows...cos that would imply that they're gearing up for a full season-by-season release :-)
