Yeah, I know that :-) I was simplifying since both discs and players are labelled as being "NTSC" and/or "PAL".
Can't be done...at least not in the way you're thinking.
It's usually pretty trivial to modify a DVD player to accept discs from other regions. But you will never be able to modify an NTSC-only player (which is most players sold in North America) to play PAL discs such as the Fraggle Rock...
The last I heard, Jackson was planning to do it, and he'd commented that while he's currently tied up with other projects he should be available by the time the laywers are through arguing :-)
