Steve and JD made a fantastic podcast discussing this news and toasting Steve and Matt. Listen until 27:17, from 40:06 to 43:46, and from 54:35 to 1:05:20. http://muppethub.com/mft2/
Muppetmaker is actually Dan Becker from the Getting Felt Up Puppetry Podcast. He's interviewed and become friends with several of the Muppet performers, so it makes sense that he knew this before the rest of us did.
I'm really sad. Steve was an incredibly nice guy to me when I met him at the Center for Puppetry Arts back in April 2011. His Kermit is the one I grew up with, since I was born 4 years after Jim's passing. I really hope Matt's Kermit is really good and doesn't sound like Constantine's version of...
Steve Swanson has some funny things to say about Muppet Thoughts of the Week and JD Hansel explains to him why he should be glad they exist and not complain. Listen from 1:03:50 to 1:11:58: http://muppethub.com/mft1/
Listen to Steve Swanson's hilarious reaction when he hears that this movie might actually happen, and when he realizes why it takes so long for Henson projects to happen. Listen from 49:41 to 56:29: http://muppethub.com/mft1/
Since we need some laughs after hearing that Steve may or may not be leaving the Muppets, and some of us like @dwayne1115 and @JimAndFrank think Steve Swanson and JD Hansel are smart and funny, here they are talking about the new Dark Crystal series and making jokes about why it took them so...
From the premiere of Muppet Guys Talking.
Dave Goelz: Jim relished diversity. And when I joined the company, there were all sorts of different people working in the workshop, and I looked around and thought "These are extreme characters, they would be unemployable in Silicon Valley, they're just...
The bookends of this episode were fun. I wish we could have actually seen the frog in the cold open though. It was interesting how they used Word on the Street. I guess cause they couldn't do Kindness Cam and they needed to fill time somehow. My favorite part of the new EW was a kid saying about...
This episode was pretty good. As Drtooth said, (I really wish he comes back), Redusa's voice was basically like Wanda's from Fairly Odd Parents. We got the first appearance of the Count in a street story since 2013, and the Two-Headed Monster's reaction to the tissue box was funny. It was nice...
I would like to share a hilarious quote from the premiere episode of Muppet Fans Talking.
Steve Swanson: Are we not doing Toast and Roast or Burned Hamburgers or anything like that?
JD Hansel: What pig would you like to talk about? What have you seen recently with Miss Piggy? Tell me.
Steve: I...
This episode was very good. It was nice to see Prairie for the first time this season. Also it's nice to see Rosita's dad Ricardo for the first time on the show. Prairie's voice sounded so cute during the song. Slimey was hilarious. The bit with James Corden was funny. We finally met Mr...
The cold open was great simply because Ryan showed off his pipes very well. It was interesting how in the new EW, they refilmed the transition between Smartie and the game with the kids.
You need to watch recent episodes of Sesame after Ryan became Elmo. He made him much more 3-dimensional. I think it's because he used to be a fan like us, and he knows how some fans feel about Elmo.
I don't know how it happened, but we're three episodes in with Jen's Zoe, and she's already making me laugh. I loved her nonsense talk and Rosita saying to her, "Pull it together". Also, did Stephanie play Mrs. Crustworthy in this episode? It didn't sound like it.
I love that even though Murray doesn't exist anymore, Ovejita's still around. This was a pretty fun story. My favorite part was Abby turning a table into grass and telling Chris he has to mow the table. I also liked how Chris' eggs looked when Abby froze them.
