Looking more closely...I suspect the Amazom.com posters had not seen the actual discs when they posted their comments, and the poster on dvdanswers.com was basing his assertion that the shows are uncut on the BBFC timings - which have now proven to be garbage.

John Gordon-Sinclair played the Captain's nephew, known as 'PK'. He took over as lighthouse keeper after MacKay's death (explained in the show as the Captain having 'returned to his first love, the sea'). PK made his debut on January 10th 1988 in 'Born To Wander', the first show of the fourth...
Sort of. The last I heard, the 2005 US release contained two copies of the film: the theatrical, and the extended. Unfortunately, only the theatrical is in widescreen: the extended cut is pan/scan.
Just to confirm: this is definitely the theatrical cut of the film (ie, it does not include "When Love Is Gone".
The running time on the sleeve is incorrect - the film on the disc runs to 82 minutes, not the 86 stated on the sleeve.
Other than that, at least it's anamorphic widescreen...
I think this ought to go in the FAQ some time :-)
The song was cut during editing the film as it was felt to slow the movie down (or possibly they were concerned about the running time - certainly when I saw the movie in the cinema, they actually had an interval in the middle). It was...
Right, and the taping dates are in almost exactly the same order as the shows on the discs ;-) Only three shows are 'out of sequence'.
The discs present the shows in Production Code order, which is simply the order that the codes were assigned. As a general rule, the shows would then be...
Nah, those times were taken directly from the DVDs :-)
The BBFC times strongly imply what I originally speculated in the other thread: all shows uncut but with replacement opening titles. Since this is clearly not the case, I can only conclude that Disney paid to have the shows classified...
No, you were correct the first time ;-) I've just looked at the BBFC listings. The times they give do not match the times on the discs - all the BBFC listings are around the 25 minute mark. Vincent Price, for example, is listed as running to 24'59".
Presumably Disney resubmitted the shows...
Many online retailers ship ahead of the official release date to ensure that their customers receive their discs on that date. Obviously they have no control over exactly when the Royal Mail will make delivery... :-) Play.co.uk shipped my discs on Thursday; they reached me this morning.
It...
I've now had a closer look at the first couple of shows :-)
For those of you who don't know me, I'm a video engineer, so I've been able to throw the picture up on a professional-grade video monitor and engineering scopes and make a proper examination of it.
First up: yes, these are...
The packaging is what you can see on the eBay listings - just a slipcase with four slim DVD cases inside it.
The shows do have their original openings, and it would appear that they're original PAL copies, although I haven't looked closely enough to be certain. I shall put a disc in the...
