I can do the Swedish Chef and Beaker pretty well, (repetition = practice, hah) and I'm okay at Oscar. I daren't attempt Kermit/Scooter out of respect (and because they're terrible... :P).
Yes to everything and everyone in that blog post. YES. Especially Neil Patrick Harris, Sarah Silverman, Jimmy Fallon and Ellen DeGeneres (a list of people that could be described as very inherently Muppety). Someone make this happen. Also, I had a dream about a Glee/Muppet crossover...
The first day of true heat here, got up to 90 and we were going to tough it out (SHACAWGA, baby. We're hardcore like that.) but majority vote said we had to turn the A/C on so we all didn't, ya know, burst into flames...
I agree, great list (I'd have listed Disney/Muppets too, but I think that's a given on this forum lol.) I guess it's up to the individual to place the line of reverence, I'm juuuust spritiual-ish enough that "On The Willows" reduces me to tears, but I also I love Life Of Brian. (hilarious and...
Okay, this is a bump, because I do love movies/musicals, ergo (how many times a day does one get to use the word "ergo"? It's an awesomely underused word. But I digress.) Movie-musicals are indeed THE BEST. Some I can find the Youtube clip for easily:
"I'd Do Anything" from Oliver...
Gah. Also incredibly jealous of you. I have 6 days, but those 6 days will be spent STRESSING. Finallllssdjeofmvsoowkcdsoikl. Oh, I'm sorry, I just went completely stressily spastic on my keyboard to illustrate my stressedness.
Romeo and Juliet, which being a book for English and "classic" literature *should* be cliche and a pain to annotate etc, is actually freaking awesome. (poetic pre-Twilight, minus vampires and plus epic swordfights. :D) And Lamb somethingorothersuperlongtitlebiblicalallegorything by Christopher...
Been craving Portillo's (Italian beef sandwich and a cake shake, if you live anywhere outside my immediate-ish location I pity your taste buds. SO GOOD.) and have CONSUMED IT at long last. :hungry:
Maybe because love is a combination of, like everything. I'm not personally in (even slightly hinted at being mutual anymore. *sigh*) love and ok with that. Now.
Okay, I know this isn't the "Whine About Remakes of Movies From Your Childhood" thread, but:
Live action Kiki's Delivery Service. Nooo! :grouchy: (seemingly in development h*ll though.)
Wow. This is a bit depressing. I watched SS waaay after the era those skits were on, but I still remember her version of the ABCs better than any other celebrity version. :(
90 minutes of Sean Connery and double entendres. . . YES PLEASE. :D I agree, they took the characters and actually developed a plot, it's not just like one long sketch. (plus, I live in Chicago and have male relatives, it's practically required viewing.)
"The Blues Brothers" is awesome, probably because that's the first SNL sketch they spun off. "Superstar"(!) too. :D The others I haven't seen more than 5 minutes of.
I got told Friday that I look (like a Rorschach inkblot that the person telling me thought looked like) like BOB MARLEY. Beat that one on a scale of 1 to awkward.
