My parents were in town for the holidays, and Mom handed the tickets off to me for safekeeping, since I live about half an hour from Wayne (depending on traffic).
It looks as if we'll be about 10 rows back from the stage, and I'll keep an eye out for the rest of you guys. Like I said, it'd be...
Yeah, it's the same with my grandmother's tree, as well as my parents' tree.
I had a chance to take in some of the box set this afternoon - I skipped straight ahead to the season 4 bonus material, since patience isn't exactly one of my strong points.
I liked the footage of the wrap party -...
Same here; haven't had a chance to watch it, though.
And I think I'm going to go ahead and donate my other three box sets to the library, as soon as I can round up all the discs and get them back in their right cases.
Had a good Christmas; the whole family gathered at my grandmother's...
Yeah, we Americans briefly flirted with metric back in the 70s, but we're still using Fahrenheit today. My conversion's a little rusty, but 26 Celsius would be, hmm...somewhere in the 70s and 80s range on our scale, I think.
Here, it was 22 Fahrenheit this morning, which translates into...
Oh, yeah, in "Battle of Leaking Roof," Ma offers to fix the hole in the roof, Pa goes on about how women are supposed to be in the kitchen, cooking and cleaning, and Ma warns him that if he keeps that up he'll have to fix the hole in his head. (Way to go, Ma!)
Here's my latest Muppet-related...
Hi, Kiki - and a merry Christmas to you too down in Australia!
It's going to be the same with me; as soon as I get off work tomorrow, I'm driving out to my grandmother's place to spend Christmas Eve and Day, and my parents are going to be in town for Boxing Day.
And it's true, heralde -...
Oh, yeah - most of those kids would probably be more familiar with Kermit. But I'll bet a number of them were just as familiar with Scooter. And besides, having two different characters such as Kermit and Scooter opens up all sorts of possibilities for a really good double act.
I just hope...
Wow - when and where was this?
I'll bet those kids were over the moon when they went home that day - two of the famous Muppets, and one of the guys who works with them, taking time off from a busy shooting schedule to spend time with them. And Richard, of course, must have really been in his...
That's really touching, heralde. It's got me thinking of "In the Bleak Mid-Winter," which is one of my favorite carols.
"What can I give him, poor as I am...
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb...
If I were a wise man, I would do my part...
What can I give him...give my heart."
We...
And it's a miracle that he didn't fall flat on his face while wearing those over-sized Sweetums feet; I know I would have.
It's true; the Muppets lost a certain something when Richard passed away. But even though it'll be 17 years this January, he's still able to make people laugh and smile...
It's okay; we understand that you were just curious. But it's like we said, whenever the topic comes up we try to sidestep it, out of respect for Richard and his family.
Here's my two cents' worth:
Yes, we all know that Richard Hunt had AIDS. However, I don't think he, or his family, would like fans speculating openly on exactly how he got it, especially on an Internet forum.
As you so rightly said, muppetfan89, it doesn't change the fact that he was a...
Yeah, well...it'll probably be re-aired in some form or other fairly soon. I mean, the ratings showed that there are enough Muppet fans, both original and new, to merit a Muppet project.
How's the weather where you guys are? I live in one of the areas that really got hit by this big winter...
We got 4-6 inches of snow and sleet here; started around 10 this morning and really hammered away until late afternoon. Roads were positively awful...I don't want to say I'm a nervous driver, but I must have said two-thirds of the rosary by the time I got home from work. :)
I remember a few computer games from years ago, made for Apple IIe. There was Astro Grover (later remade for Nintendo), some game with Ernie and shapes (ditto), some mix-and-match game starring Cookie Monster, and there was a layer cake game where you had to stack the layers in the right order...
Storyteller: Oh, very nice...but that web joke? "We just got our first hit?"
Scooter: Okay, fine, it was a groaner. But someone had to make that joke, and I drew the short straw. (slurps cocoa)
Nora: I liked Gonzo's song toward the end...it's just like "The Wishing Song."
Beige: But Officer...
Well, I see everyone's weighing in on the Muppet Christmas special on NBC.
For me, it was a real thrill to see Scooter back at last. After hearing only Richard performing Scooter, it was a little weird (good weird, that is) to hear David Rudman's take on Scooter. He's got a higher-pitched...
I liked it, I liked it. Sure, there were moments when it veered toward the cute and cloying, but it was pretty good.
For me, it was really, really good to see all the gang back together on the air. That's what made it for me.
Here's my verdict on Scooter: sure, it's certainly a different...
Oh, yeah, some of the villains' names in the games were positively groan-worthy. Let's see how many I remember:
Sam O'Nella (World, deluxe)
Bjorn Toulouse (World, deluxe)
Nell N. Void (USA, deluxe)
Rita Laboutit (Space)
Hanover Fist (Space)
Homer de Brave (America's Past)
...there's more, of...
