Yeah, where do you suppose they picked that up? ;)
I wonder if Alison ever came up with a way to get back at them...
Although, it makes me think of all the hijinks that Dave Goelz and Steve Whitmire pulled on the set of Fraggle Rock - drove Jocelyn Stevenson nearly out of her mind, and she...
Yeah - some of those kids' show hosts of the 50s could be mean-spirited off camera. Did you ever hear the story about that one host, who, when he thought the cameras were off, said "That oughta hold the little (deleted)'s for another week." But the cameras were still rolling...
Anyway...it's...
That's right - Richard decided that the guy behind the "pistil-packing vampire" was not half-bad. The book also says that Richard became very close friends with the original Audrey, Ellen Greene - who was seeing Marty at the time.
In that same chapter, the book tells how Richard would...
That's really cool, being able to design your own Whatnot - I think a lot of fans have daydreamed about being able to build their own Muppets.
(However, I'm pretty certain that the design specs for the principal Muppets are kept under lock and key - I mean, Muppet blueprints are practically...
I know - my father really wants to bring along his cameras, even though my mother's repeatedly told him that it's unlikely they'll permit photography. He even suggested, since I'm a reporter, that I offer to cover it. But the thing is, Wayne's not on my beat, and I'm pretty sure that The Record...
Just double-checked our tickets - my family and I are going to be in row K, orchestra, too.
As for public transit, Melissa, it looks like you'll end up taking the bus if the weather closes in. Wayne's on the Montclair-Boonton rail line, but I don't know how feasible that would be, depending...
Hi, Rax - my name's Erin, and welcome to the RHLC.
Having been on the receiving end of schoolyard teasing myself, I'd say it's just the kids being a pain in the neck. Kids will use any excuse to tease, whether it's your clothes, or a speech quirk or whatever. And let's face it, people grow...
Same here - I grabbed the book off the shelf, immediately flipped to the index and looked for "Hunt, Richard."
And then there was that one story about how whenever the crew was going somewhere by plane, Richard would immediately get to know the kids who were on the plane with him.
The book...
I was planning to buy one the next time I could get out to a Borders or Barnes and Noble...but tonight, after I got home from work, I went browsing in the bookshop that's down the street from where I am. And I'm aimlessly scanning the nonfiction section, when on the third shelf I spotted a copy...
It's been 2009 for half an hour where I am, so once again, happy new year! And I can see most of New York on the horizon where I am, so I got to watch some fireworks on my way home.
There was a big First Night celebration here, so that's where I've been. Lots of fun, but the wind chill is...
(in room 7)
All: (singing) There is a man called Mr. Lang, and he's got a neon sign...and Mr. Lang is very old, so they call it Old Lang's Sign...
(chorus of cackles and boos)
Beige: Well it still makes more sense than all that stuff about auld and lang and cups of kindness.
Nora: You're...
I know we're still a few hours out by our time (U.S. EST), but I'll go ahead and wish everyone in the RHLC a happy new year. And if I can log on again around midnight, I'll wish it again.
Well, at least in the lower 48. Don't forget Alaska (I was born there) and Hawaii, after all - they're still on this side of the international date line.
Happy new year to everyone on the forum, and let's hope 2009 at least goes a little better than 2008.
Yeah, that's true - and in either show, they didn't sugar-coat the issue of death very much. In another interview, Jocelyn Stevenson recalled how people said that Fraggle Rock was too intelligent to be a children's show. She countered that by saying that FR was intelligent enough for them. And...
Yeah - during one of the interviews, Laura Phillips said that whenever Richard sings a song on the show, it's always very emotional.
I've not been able to watch that one yet, but I'll have to get to it very soon.
And I know how it is - when my dog died earlier this year, I didn't want to...
(gang is having dinner: Irish stew with bread, butter and marmalade)
Storyteller: Lightning-fried chicken? How would you do that?
Erin: Well, I guess you'd tie the chicken to a kite string, and then tie on a big brass key, and wait for the next really good storm.
Scooter: You know, I heard of...
I thought so - I guess my ears are still working then. And elsewhere, there are a few milder curse words here and there during the behind-the-scenes footage. I guess they anticipated that it'd be the adults watching that stuff as opposed to the kids - then again, you never know.
And that...
Took in the interview with Rob, Gord and Trish last night; those guys are practically the Three Stooges, in a way - always making the Ink Spots pop up everywhere, to Wayne Moss's chagrin, and living up to the Karen Prell's first law of Muppetry: "If it moves, upstage it!"
Loved what Rob had...
Here's what I had for dinner tonight: chickpeas, onions and peppers sauteed in olive oil and tomato sauce and served over rice. To drink: one mug of green tea.
I like both kinds of seeds - I like to keep bags of nuts, fruits and seeds on hand for snacking; they taste good and they (sometimes) keep me from gorging on sweets when I shouldn't be.
The pumpkin's good for a lot of things; here in the U.S. we use it most often in pie, and it's also good for...
