Or a gender-confused Trash Heap, as evidenced in that one episode where the Fraggles stopped the Gorgs from tossing Marjory into the stream, but ended up with her being a little confused about who she was. "Marjory! She's a fella!"
And trust me, heralde, I know all about writer's block; for a...
(Meanwhile, Ed, a lot of people around here are a little glum because the Giants lost to the Eagles this afternoon.)
Erin: How are the cakes coming?
Storyteller: (packing last cake into box) Just about ready.
Scooter: I hope they don't mind that we missed the date by one day.
Beige: These...
(gang is in kitchen, making tiramisu)
Scooter: (noticing Zoot) Hey, guys, what do we do about zombies again?
Beige: The silver cake knife's in the cabinet.
Nora: No, that's for when Alex sees a full moon.
Erin: For the zombies, nothing beats an obsidian scarab. Also works on mummies...
At least four inches of snow here, just in time for the Giants-Eagles game tomorrow. I'm just glad that I don't have to drive anywhere tomorrow, especially since I live within walking distance of church.
But as I've said, it's not the snow that worries me; it's some of the people who drive in it.
26 years ago, I wasn't even born. But my brother was around.
And as a lot of people have said, Fraggle's more than 20 years old, but the message and the content aren't dated at all. Sure, the Silly Creatures' clothes might date it, but everything else is really fresh.
Let me second you in...
To say nothing of his calling David Rudman "that (seven letters, starts with A) from Chicago." The book was right; Richard did have a weird way of expressing his love and concern for his fellow cast members from time to time.
About the big purple menace; it's true, Barney's an insult to...
A.k.a King Julien of the lemurs in "Madagascar."
And heralde, I also caught some of the updates in your blog - including how he had to deal with teasing at school (including using offerings of candy to make friends) and all that. It's a nice piece of web writing, and keep up the good work...
I remember having to slog through Great Expectations back in middle school - I appreciate it a little more now, obviously, but having to read it for school takes a lot of the fun out of it.
Of Tolstoy's full-length works, the only one I've read is Anna Karenina. I've read some of his shorter...
Okay, thanks for the info.
That's right - my family and I are all coming, and we've had our tickets for a while now. We're all really excited, and it's going to be so cool to see a lot of other forum members there.
See you there, Steve! And I'll drop you an e-mail as we get closer to the 30th.
Oh, yeah - that one's destined to be a classic. (By the way, on the MuppetCast site, where are the archives located now? I can't find any links to them.)
Also - and please correct me if I'm wrong - did you say on the "SST 40th Anniversary Event" thread that you would be coming after all?
Yeah, and it certainly sets the tone for the memorial service ultimately being a happy occasion; I seriously doubt Richard would have wanted any dirges at his memorial...
"Hey, pick up the tempo, will ya? I like a dirge you can dance to!"
And yes, that motorcycle photo's from the MuppetCast...
It looks like about 18 or 20 people from on the forum are going, at last count, and those are the ones who've posted something here. And sure, it'd be really swell if we all met up at the event.
It's really cool that they'll be doing a signing afterwards; I'll make sure to bring my copy...
(There is a vase of peonies on the table, flanked by two lit candles, and photos of a certain Muppet performer.)
(the gang is gathered around the table, and Scooter has his guitar. He starts to play "It's in Every One of Us," and everyone starts to sing.)
Scooter: It's in every...one...of...
It's been 17 years now...
Rest in peace, Richard, and many thanks for all the Muppet-related laughs and giggles you gave (and still give) to fans all over the world.
;):flirt::boo:
Wow - that's a real treasure trove. And where did they get the program from Richard's memorial?
And there's that one photo of Richard posing Scooter on the motorcycle - and the caption says that the bike belonged to Richard.
Here, we've got a few hours to go - but, it's true. It'll be 17 years ago tomorrow that the Muppet crew lost a brilliant performer and friend - but heaven gained a few more Muppets and many more laughs.
To Richard Hunt, Muppet performer, director, and friend and inspiration to people the world...
Nora: (on sofa, re-reading Street Gang) So how was the council meeting?
Erin: (at computer) Well, it was the annual re-grouping meeting - gearing up for the new year.
Scooter: Oh, right...where the new members get sworn in...
Beige: Before they get sworn at.
Storyteller: Well, that's politics...
