yeah, it's funny the way they do that. this particular one, because it's about their history and the muppet show, which IS canon, confuses things a little more. not so much in the basic plot, that the villain is going to tear down their theater- but in the relationships between the muppets...
oh, and supposedly there's this interview kermit and piggy did in '88 on good morning america that was supposed to be HILARIOUS. joan lunden was talking to them about valentine's day and it gets into all kinds of bedroom talk and the crew starts cracking up. i've been dying to find it, i wonder...
i thought this was hilarious as well. i love all the naughty talk between kermit and piggy ("why didn't i get a personal videotape?" "you already have some...")
but this is not new, henson and oz did stuff like this with them in the 70s. has anybody seen the tape of them on that show parkinson...
see, i figured the movie within the movie of TMM wasn't the real story. because i've heard kermit and piggy say they actually met on the muppet show and the stuff in the movie was just for that
the way the two canons exist, their personalities are always real (unless it's an adaptation), but...
yeah, that was sweet.
also- because this one blurred the line btw the two canons to an extent, i think that explains why kermit is now saying in all his interviews that he and piggy ARE a couple. it seems the era of outright denial is over
the only problem i have with that scenario is that it would kind of erase anything they did as muppets past MTM, or otherwise this argument happened like many years AFTER their supposed wedding
as for the two canons, the muppet stuff in interviews, print, AND the muppet show is their real...
well, i would agree with that in general, but i always look at it in comedic terms- because the whole point of her obsession with him on TMS was supposed to be funny and it always was.
but i do think there were moments that grew more continuous later where you see that kermit does love her...

i have a very strong attachment to MCC, it was the only christmas carol version i watched in my childhood, like every single year. and nothing...
i like that too. i think they've always wanted that to be the thing with them, that they really do love each other even if they're kind of crazy together. i just like that this one acknowledged that kermit has to say it back, which he finally did.
i LOVED it! it was so great, put a smile on your face the whole time.
as a big piggy/kermit fan, i esp loved how they put it on kermit for once to be the one who has to tell piggy he loves her and wants her before she just drops everything for him as usual
i think that shows how well the...
hello! i'm new to the forum
i have to say, a moment that i found really touching is from the Fantastic Miss Piggy Special in '82, when Piggy sings "You Light Up My Life" directly to Kermit, who's watching in the control room, and then Gonzo tells him he's starting to glow
i love that whole...
