well, yeah the interviews are always great. i've always wanted to see the old footage of them on talk shows, like when they hosted the tonight show in 79, or merv griffin in 84. i wish all that stuff existed somewhere
i especially want to see this one they did on GMA in 1988, they were...
did you though? i thought he was faking it in that avery shreiber episode because scooter had told him it was a trick
i do him remember him being kind of jealous of christopher reeve in a different one. but i really don't remember too many moments that showed kermit actually liking her back on...
i never thought of the muppet movie as being the actual story of how they met. kermit said in an interview that he and piggy really met on the muppet show when she was a chorus pig. which is exactly what happened on the show, so that's why i figure stuff on the show was canon
yeah, but he'd been living there a long time alone by that point. he wouldn't just leave it the way she styled it. he covered up her picture too
i also think kermit's inability to tell her how he feels comes partly because he knows how she feels about him so completely. he's so secure in his...
well, i happen to like muppet christmas carol anyway. but isn't all the press stuff they do always canon as well? there was tons more of that after MTM, even before jim died. and the specials and stuff too. and then muppets tonight.
i personally think the last decade is where it was worse than...
so they never lived in the house together? i thought the movie implied that they did and she left at some point.
i kind of don't like the explanation in this junior novel because if that was in the movie it would literally erase every movie and thing they did after MTM. i was kind of thinking...
hmm. you mean after the muppet show then. because for the entire run of the show i'm not sure there was ever any evidence that he really did like her back in that way (unless you're counting the movies, where yes, he obviously does but they're not necessarily canon)
after the show he did start...
i always thought jim's kermit could actually be MORE combative with piggy at times. i don't actually remember the pig jokes being any less back then
one of the great things about jim and frank's timing/chemistry were their hilarious kermit/piggy fights. they would just suddenly devolve into...
i didn't think me party was that bad either.
actually, i liked all the songs, my only thing with them was that of the original stuff, they were all sung by the humans. and walter. piggy sort of dueted with amy adams, but it seemed more like amy's song since she started
in the old muppet movies...
i put this in the touching moments thread, but it's romantic too. when piggy sings to kermit in the fantastic miss piggy show special, and he starts glowing. SOOOO cute
i think the reason kermit and piggy now 100% acknowledge their being a couple is because of what happened in the movie- given how they blurred the line a little in regards to the canon stuff. i'm pretty sure all the talk about their relationship in the movie is referring to their canon one
yeah, but also TMS. that's canon too, right? along with some of the specials, like muppets go to hollywood, go to the movies, fantastic miss piggy, etc. i'm pretty sure those are supposed to be them
right, the only canon stuff in any of the movies is in the first one when they're watching their own movie, right? and any time they break the 4th wall
i'm excited for the dvd already. i know there's going to be tons of deleted scenes and extras.
i do hope there is SOME stuff with gonzo and rizzo in there somewhere. i realize they were going for the pre-jim henson's death muppet crew in this, but i personally became very attached to those two...
when do you guys think they actually got together? their "real" selves i mean, aside from the movies
i think it happened sometime in the early eighties, because at some point in their press appearances kermit stopped being in total denial and kind of gave in about it, not being married but...
that'd be pretty good. i'm gonna bet it does better than that and tops 20 million next weekend. if the word of mouth is that strong it could do it, esp with no competition
