i will probably see it for the second time this weekend.
one of the other things i loved about it was the return to focus on kermit, piggy, and fozzie, who'd kind of been sidelined after jim's death and frank's lessening involvement. in the 90's gonzo kinda stepped up as the main muppet, so i...
i think it is possible that in jim's mind, they basically had gotten married- only because after that movie he had kermit more or less finally cop to the relationship being real in the first place. in interviews and everything
when they hosted nightline, miss piggy shows up to ask him when he's...
wait, so, before jim died it had been resolved that kermit and piggy really were married? their real selves, i mean? did they acknowledge that in interviews or something? because i know that kermit did cop to the relationship itself around the mid-80s, or basically after they were married...
i forgot about DADT, but that's another good thing too, imo, that got done.
i have my own complaints about not enough being done, particularly with wall street. and i feel the biggest issue is that he hasn't been able to articulate where he stands clearly enough and fight the republicans full...
why not trust obama? i don't understand what he's done that's so bad. preventing a depression, passing healthcare reform, killing bin laden....all seems like good stuff to me. (although i'd bet money if a republican president had gotten bin laden, it would have been portrayed as just that- a...
i haven't seen AVMMC either, actually, but a lot of people seem to like it. were kermit and piggy together in that?
is it really good? what i heard about that one was that they were trying to make them SO hip and had so many pop-culture references that it was like an episode of family guy or...
i was also surprised they didn't have kermit go so far as to say i love you- he only managed "i need you"
i wonder if they thought that was just too much to have him say. i'd like to hear him say it some time, eventually. it's been long enough
i never saw MFS because it was supposed to be so bad, but i guess i should see it just because. although that does surprise me that kermit and piggy aren't together in it- they've been together in every single other muppet movie
that's an interesting point about TV being the place where they shine. i really think that's the truth and always has been. because there they can be themselves and skew more adult-y sometimes, which they have ALWAYS done on tv
plus, they became stars on TV first, that's the reason the movies...
well, maybe it will be a giant success worldwide. it doesn't open overseas until next year, so it's got some time
i'm disappointed about this though. i really did think it would only have a small decrease this weekend, and would beat twilight for sure. twilight usually falls off a cliff by its...
yeah, but they can say what they want to see. and i do think some of the impact of the movie does depend upon knowing and loving the muppets already, so maybe kids didn't connect as much
i mean, when the original muppet movies were coming out (esp the first one), kids knew and were deeply...
yeah, it's the kids. that's the explanation here, guys. adults don't see family movies twice, and if kids didn't have their own connection to it it won't do as well as it could have
yeah, that shocks me actually. it got such a high cinemascore.
i have to say, it must have something to do with the fact that most of the audience last week was adults. family movies need the repeat business that comes from kids.
if it was mostly adults who saw the movie, they won't be...
