Do you think Labyrinth 2 should be made?

Amazingly, it seems like a Labyrinth sequel HAS been discussed recently: http://www.muppetcentral.com/news/2003/012803.shtml It seems like this new project isn't related at all, but apparently it came out of talks about a Labyrinth sequel. Interesting, huh?

Gaiman and McKean Team for "Mirror Mask"

Astonishing that a sequel to Labyrinth was even discussed that recently. (Maybe they've been reading our posts!) But I wish we had more information than just the title. How does this relate to Labyrinth at all, or does it not relate anymore? The direct-to-video thing does sound like a strange...

What do you think about a Muppet Theme Park?

Love your ideas, Wiggy! While Fraggle Rock is full of theme park potential, I'd combine it with other attractions because it's not as famous right now. Bear is much more popular. I also like the symmetrical design of having four sections. But there's nothing wrong with your take on it. I love...

    New Generation of Fantasy Films?!

Great news, Manda. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is currently in pre-production as a major feature-length movie! The director is one of the co-directors of Shrek. It's going to be live-action mixed with CGI. Right now the director's busy with Shrek 2, so it probably won't be out till 2004...

What do you think about a Muppet Theme Park?

As awesome as all these ideas are, unfortunately the Henson Company is not in a position to bring any of these dreams to light right now. The ideal time probably would have been 1982 or so. Maybe someday the Muppets will have more of a presence in the theme parks. Valentine once worked for...

Songs you'd like to see on the next Muppet Compilation CD

Don't know for sure what the Vet's Hospital and Pigs in Space sketches are. Someone with the albums (and a working record player!) will have to tell us. I picked them for my playlist because I'm always thinking in terms of catching the eye of the casual fan. If one of them picked up the...

Songs you'd like to see on the next Muppet Compilation CD

Thanks, Scott, that sounds right. You're a more trustworthy source for song names than I am! Chilly Down and his four-of-a-kind, eight-toe orchestra P.S. Super Scooter, love the idea about the guest stars song!

Songs you'd like to see on the next Muppet Compilation CD

Scarecroe: Yes, you're right, it's "Two Lost Souls." I'm not doing too well with song titles, am I? I'll have to think about that while I conduct my four-finger orchestra. ;) I like the suggestion that they just re-issue the movie soundtracks. However, any Muppet compilation may have to have...

Songs you'd like to see on the next Muppet Compilation CD

In the case of Vet's Hospital and Pigs in Space, they were probably done without laugh tracks. However, while I ordinarily despise laugh tracks, I think the Muppet sketches would be better with them. We're used to hearing the laughs on the show, and the sketches sound empty without them.

Songs you'd like to see on the next Muppet Compilation CD

Tommie: It was a toss-up between both versions of "Inchworm" for me. I deliberately picked songs that were done more than once on the show, so it doesn't really matter which one. I suppose I went with Danny because the casual fan is more likely to know who Danny Kaye is, and the song featured...

Songs you'd like to see on the next Muppet Compilation CD

I agree that the 25th anniversary was lacking in a lot of important tracks. How could you have nothing by Rowlf but a bit by Wayne and Wanda? I suppose they would want to avoid the copyright issues with using songs with guest stars, but to me those are some of the best moments (and the name...

I think it time for me to really drop this facade and say maybe disney is best...

I don't think that's a fair comparison. Those dirty jokes were snuck in by animators, etc. because they knew most kids (and adults, for that matter) would miss it. This stuff was not written into the script nor it was approved by the Disney corporation, so to say that we can't trust Disney...

What is the state of the muppet performers?

Re Jerry being sick: Jamie first heard something about that as a rumor, but it was never confirmed. I've mentioned it on more than one occasion as a theory for why his characters sounded strange in VMMCM -- but it is just that: a theory. It's known for certain that Jerry couldn't make it to...

what is the exact date of 25th anniv?

Maybe Kermitage will eventually straighten all this out for us. We definitely need more time for penguin talk. ;-) Here's one thing maybe you can answer: when do they start showing new shows in the UK? In the US we have TV "seasons" that run between September thru May, so new programming...

Your Thoughts: It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas

Just FYI, that pizza slice was based on a clay figure called Mr. Bill that used to appear regularly on Saturday Night Live in the 70's. I'm guessing the same "animator" was responsible for both.

Farscape Returns with New Season 4 Episodes

Unfortunately, the place where I'm staying doesn't have cable. So I'm having my parents tape the episodes for me and then send it to me. So I have to wait even longer!! Aargh!! (Don't worry, I don't have a ratings box so it doesn't affect anything.) Cory, about Farscape's following versus the...

what is the exact date of 25th anniv?

It's possible, but you'd know more info about that then I would, Luke. ;-) Jim and his original team were American (till the Elstree studio opened, anyway), but the financier Lord Grade was British. So I'm not sure who the primary audience was originally expected to be. Obviously, its reach...

what is the exact date of 25th anniv?

Whoops The MC episode guide says that the Jim Nabors episode (which introduced Scooter) aired September 27, 1976 (New York) and October 2, 1976 (LA). That was a little earlier than I had previously heard.
