Yep, that's a very very good sign. Pretty much the same at mine as well. They've been out of most of the plushes for a while now, and a whole wall of clearance cars.
I'm not really surprised about Walter, after all he is a central character in the movie the plush set is based on. However, Beaker, Rizzo and Pepe are nice additions considering the latter 2 didn't exactly have a whole lot to do in the new movie.
Kidrobot does some really cool stuff, and I wouldn't mind grabbing at least one of them just for fun it it didn't cost me as much as a full figure of whatever character i'd wind up getting.
Seeing as half of the characters made have been sold out since Nov. 23rd, and knowing DS' track record, I...
For clarification, that's the Plushes of Kermit, Piggy, Beaker, Pepe and Rizzo that are out. Both of the GIANT sized are still in stock.
The one thing that does seem to sell rediculously well, and I personally don't really see it, is the Vynals. They're pretty expensive for their size, and...
Also true, kermie. Although there's some accurate commentary, it's kinda getting a bit off topic in here.
For anyone interested, in the Twice Upon A Year Sale, the 9" Gonzo vinylmation set is $59.96 right now. Also notable, Kermit, Piggy, Beaker, Pepe and Rizzo are all Sold Out.
Everything is pretty much dead on. I used to collect Marvel figures, but I can't do that anymore, because since Hasbro manged to get the licence scale went from 6/7" to 3.25", the quality went way down, and the price went way up. The only options are cheap overpriced small figures, or pricey...
I agree with you on the lack of merch. Not surprising, but very very disappointing. They put Appearances across tons of networks, they did multiple online videos to promote it, and tons of other things, but they can only do a set of plush in an exclusive store and a few clothing items? The...
Those big plushes are "GIANT" sized, unless they've released new ones. And i'm actually going to have to side with you on the Yellow Submarine issue. It's disappointing that The Beatles arn't going to be in theaters, but I would MUCH prefer a re-release of the current film than a re-make. I love...
Trust me, I hear you on the size issue, ha. And yes, I was referring to the Zemekis remake. Last i'd heard it was supposed to be a remake/re-animation, and I didn't hear about the company itself folding.
Thanks to the UK site, we know that the current plushes are considered "Medium" (as well as...
Sorry for the double post (if they don't merge that is), but this is such a brillaint point. Happy Feet and Arthur stuff has already started to be on clearance and I hardly ever see anyone even LOOKING at them, and EVERY time i've been in the Disney Store at least 2 of the characters are...
Exactly my point. Disney (at least in their actions) doesn't seem to realize that The Muppets has a bigger Merchandising market than TRON, and We the fans wouldn't even compare the two, on the other side they are both theatrical films. But then again this is the same corporation that cancelled...
Oh, I could only wish. I'd love for that to happen (Despite the fact that it means bad things for the franchise) but since they're popping up in Big Lots, I doubt it.
Puckrox, COOL getting the shirt. I got the Plush Gonzo for christmas. He looks great other than nitpicks and his arms being way...
That is a very good point. Because while the movie did surprisingly well, at least better than they expected - the toy line did not. Massively mis-mananged, over-ordered, and under sold. It's just a little over a year since the movie primered and the toys are just starting to hit Big Lots, and...
On a similar note with the lack of Mass Market merch, I just realized that TRON Legacy had a full toy line, along with a few Disney Store exclusives. This boggles the mind even further because, well, I'm a huge fan of TRON it's much more obscure than The Muppets. Just goes to show Disney is all...
I know, and that's what i'm saying. It just seems odd to me, but it makes perfect sense. I just wouldn't consider him to be that "main", but maybe it's just because I prefer Floyd. Animal appeals to a wide audience, so they put him everywhere.
It also seems a bit strange that Pepe get picked...
YES, you have hit the nail on the head, my friend. On both accounts. I like Animal and all, but I find it really irritating that he's EVERYWHERE in the merch. I'd peg him below Fozzie or Gonzo in terms of "Main Character", but anytime it's 3 characters it's almost always Kermit, Piggy, and...
Rowlf ANYTHING for that matter. With his role being so big in The Muppets, he should definently be on the list for merch when the Disney Store is supposed to do "more" when the DVD releases. I wouldn't be surprised if this actually happens, becuase they do it for almost everything, and they...
I really don't like the trend that the Disney Store has got going. It seems, mostly with the shirts, that Girls = Kermit and Guys = Animal. I'd really love to get a shirt with the Kermit with his Banjo design.
How common are the Kermit slippers around your area, guys? I've been to at least 3 now trying to track down a pair and only 1 has Muppet slippers at all, and they've got about 20 pairs of Kermit in medium and none of any other size. Of course they have tons of Animal in Large and XL though...
