Mr. Spinney was a featured guest at a convention in Framingham, MA last month that I wish I was at. Christopher Lloyd, Linda Blair and Bob Backlund were there (among many others), but I REALLY wanted to meet the man behind "The Bird" and "The Grouch"...I am so kicking myself for not going...
I like the idea of Best of DVD's for the human characters, especially Bob and Maria and I also think an "Evolution of Gordon" concept would be cool featuring all 3 actors.
As far as Muppet characters, I agree with Best of DVD's for Herry, Oscar and The Count...but how about Roosevelt Franklin...
In the eyes of others as well as myself, I am most like Sam Eagle. I believe that order must be kept, no one should forget their manners and when people are being unruly in my presence I get very frazzled. Besides all that, I am very patriotic too.
This is great news...and I am especially thrilled about the return of Owl, he has always been my favorite character form the Hundred Acre Wood. I sincerely hope that this is a sign of things to come. Leave CGI to Pixar.
How about "Disco Frog" and "Caribbean Amphibian" the version where he duets with Jimmy Buffett from the Elmopalooza album. I like your idea of an all-Kermit CD.
You know...I think you are on to something! After reading your post, I popped in my "Sunny Days" DVD and thought, "Wow, they DO look like the Muppeteers!" Well said!

Anytime the pigs sang Village People, I was happy!
I also loved Leo Sayer's "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing", as well as "I Go to Rio" form the Diana Ross episode.
My faves, in no particular order are as follows:
"Turn the World Around" (how can you NOT like this one?)
"It's a Small World" (Spike is just so zany, you gotta love him)
"When You Wish Upon a Star" (prophetic...Muppets + Star Wars + Disney = 3rd Florida Theme Park)
"Pig" (Alan Arkin...
I also think that Harvey Korman looked like he was doing community service when he was on The Muppet Show, I guess not everyone can be ultra-enthusiastic like the aforementioned Hamill, Denver and so on. John Cleese really looked like he hated doing the show, so I was very surprised to hear that...
I remember My Pet Monster very well! I have one of the MY Monster Pet, hand puppets named Gwonk.
I also remember renting the movie on vhs in 1987...cool flick! Glad to see someone else remembers this stuFf!
I have heard so much about this, I would love to see footage of it. Wizard of Oz is one of my all-time favorite movies and I love Margaret Hamilton. She reprised the role again in the 70's on Paul Lynde's Halloween Special along with Billie Hayes as Witchiepoo and KISS. 1976 I believe.
I am Boston born (born in 1973) and have been an Elvis fan my whole life. I have visited Graceland a few times and have been an impersonator for 20 years.
It was 33 years ago today we lost The Forever King of Rock n Roll, Elvis Presley. As a fan and an impersonator, I know the impact that this man had on not only music but the world. TV Guide named him the most influential entertainer of the 20th century. People of all ages know who he is and...
I must agree with UHF and A Bug's Life, two movies I really like a lot. One that comes to my mind is Night Shift staring Henry Winkler, Shelley Long and a then not so well-known actor named Michael Keaton. The movie is funny and yet has some great acting form all of the leads at the same time...
My pick is folk-rock group America. Those guys were such great writers...listen carefully to the lyrics to "Ventura Highway", "Tin Man" and their other songs, not to mention their great vocal harmonies. Sadly, their last hit song, "You Can Do Magic" is a great song but it does not approach their...
I personally love the skit where The Count comes to Charlie's and orders hot dogs, not because he wants to eat them...because he wants to COUNT them! Things get really funny when Grover is bringing out plates of hot dogs for The Count (the film is sped up of course) as frantic music plays in the...
I remember watching this documentary on PBS when it first aired and was impressed. It would be nice if someone put it out on DVD. I recall clips of some very early short films that Jim had made that were very strange, but cool at the same time.
When I was a kid, I always thought that the chorus of "Minute by Minute" by The Doobie Brothers was just them scat singing (Doo-ba-doo, ba-doo, ba-doo) Until I realized that they were rapidly singing the title, funny huh?
