I've got 6 yards of the stuff but I haven't used it yet. Just from looking though, it does seem to be a finer pile like RF said. I'm wondering what the dye characteristics are compared to the original.
I happened upon this forum dedicated to crafts. It's sort of wierd, but I know from looking at different things I've gotten ideas that I incorporate in my own creations. Just something to keep you from actually working today.

I have used the washing machine's gentle cycle to dye. I stop it half-way and let it soak, then restart and let it finish. It works well, but I do get a little pilly.
RF, do you think if I took it out before the spin would prevent this? It's not bad, but I've noticed it isn't as smooth as...
Amen. I'm tired of all of it. Politics, natural disasters, terrorism, almond joy vs. mounds...all of it. I've stopped watching TV (except the Simpsons, but that's another thread).
I've done something similar to this as part of a ministry fair. The camera was set under a table near the stage and we yelled at people as they went by. We interacted and joked around with folks. It was a cool way to see who we were talking to.
It also let us know which direction to focus...

It has only been observed annually since 1863, thanks to Abe Lincoln, and is at it's present spot on the calendar thanks to FDR. Who knew?
What I like about the Simpsons (still) is that even after seeing every episode numerous times, there is always some nugget, some precious gem that I either didn't pick up on the first seventeen times I saw it or is a familiar as an old sock but still makes me laugh somewhere deep in my soul...

Of course they're out of season now. Yep, June to August/September or so, best time for watermelon...hmm, why don't all people have birthdays between March and May?
