I, too, use this technique on most of my puppets. The main benefit I see is storage, dressing (clothes not turkey) and with multiple bodies you can have really quick costume changes. Zip, flip and rip.
Absolutely. I've gotten nothing but great results from it. But remember that's one man's opinion and I haven't been building long. I was turned on to Jacquard by someone who use to be here. Try searching for Jacquard or Acid Dye in the puppetry forum.
