I Love the 80's: Strikes Back!

It makes me feel old and silly because I've been there, done that, got the T-shirt. Best show on VH1 ever...

    Of Patterns and Arm Rods

So, his handle is square, right? I know I've been slipping rubber tubing over the end of my rod, gluing in place and shrink wrapping the ends. The tubing is $.10 a foot which is cheap, but "square" intrigues me... Thanks, Buck for posting about this resource. I am completely enthralled by...

    Fleece Coverings

Free Prize Inside! Ooh! a glow-in-the-dark decoder ring! Actually, bezalel, you've hit on a very solid idea. You've created something once that can be resold numerous times, where as building a puppet and selling it is a one-time dealie. (I've asked Santa for one of your kits for...

    Palindromes

Shouldn't your second i be an a? All Simpsons fans should know "rise to vote, sir" and Otto is like Otto spelled backwards. (That's one pallindrome you won't be hearing.)

Guilty... Skinny leather ties I've said "Who's the U-boat commander?" in a crowed room to the laughter of others. Parchute Pants (still have a pair somewhere) I didn't want to hurt Boy George. The "Come on Eileen" chick was hot in her overalls. BTW: The Friday/Saturday video show on TBS...

    Open Source Puppetry Project

So, if it is "science fictiony-ish" are we looking at alien monsters, under your bed monsters or like those you find stealing socks at the laundromat? Oh wait that was some deranged homeless man and it wasn't socks...my bad.

Anyone a Keeping Up Appearances fan?

Correction: The vicar is a separate character from Emmett. Emmett is Elizabeth's brother who was recently divorced in the first season. Be sure to remove your shoes and try not to brush against the wall paper.

Making a puppet with Head and neck seperate from the body

I, too, use this technique on most of my puppets. The main benefit I see is storage, dressing (clothes not turkey) and with multiple bodies you can have really quick costume changes. Zip, flip and rip.

    fleece

Absolutely. I've gotten nothing but great results from it. But remember that's one man's opinion and I haven't been building long. I was turned on to Jacquard by someone who use to be here. Try searching for Jacquard or Acid Dye in the puppetry forum. Ravagefrackle, keermit, Buck, F&W may be...

Original antron only had stretch in one direction. It had some "give" in the other direction, but I wouldn't call it stretch.

Any Little Shop of Horrors fans?

I bought the original on DVD for $.50 last week, but I haven't had time to watch it. I love the 1986 version. Cool stuff.

Anyone a Keeping Up Appearances fan?

I used to watch Fawlty Towers, Waiting for God and Are You Being Served, but truthfully I only get to see Monty Python anymore and that is spotted. Not that Monty Python is spotted, but more over my watching is spotted. Spotted in that I get to watch occasionally, or should I say infrequently...
