I’m all in favor of social distancing and masks and any other measures to keep this virus at bay and get back to normal ASAP.
And I know 40 is a big year for a birthday (wait til yours comes!) But not at risking infecting more people.
And you can’t blow out birthday candles with a mask on.
That is encouraging news. Usually when you’re put on a ventilator you’re pretty much gone (as was my dad before he died). It’s like getting a second life.
This is the one ride I ‘m dying to see next time I go. Maybe another year or so, virus-permitting.
If I remember correctly, somewhere in front of the theater is a cement slab with Jim Henson’s handprints.
It’s really funny, at this stage in life I have a reach on both sides. I look at all of you and think “kids” since I was your age...a number of presidents ago...
Then I go to my various doctors, and I’m usually the youngest one there. “Who let this kid in here???!!!”
Some of you will...
Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I’m happy I got to see another birthday. The way things are going, I might be around to see Haley’s Comet once more.
2062 isn’t that far off.🥶
He was a baby compared to the rest of the cast. It’s only in the last few years I’ve come to appreciate how clever Green Acres was. At first I thought it was just another hokey rural sitcom like Petticoat Junction or The Beverly Hillbillies. But there was some subversive dialogue and sight Gaga’s...
Before he (or anybody) opens up too fast, take a look at what is happening in Singapore. A city-state about the size of New York City with 5 million people, opened up early and is now seeing a resurgence in cases.
If any governor had any sense at all they would open things up gradually. Start in the least crowded areas, and where is more crowded, keep strict guidelines about social distancing, wearing masks, common sense. And I would think people would be aware enough to keep themselves protected.
Someone...
This might be more appropriate for the Bible study thread, but since we’re here...yes I do believe a Creator exists, the universe wasn’t some random accident. Take the planet. If we were any closer to the sun, we’d burn up. Any further away, we’d freeze. Even to get all the atoms and molecules...
I have a very short sermon for everybody. Everything looks frustrating right now. So much is closed, but there are signs this finally might be leveling off. We’re still not out of the woods, but there are signs of hope.
Hebrews 11:6 God rewards those who diligently seek Him.
These are crazy...
That’s something I would question too. If you’re making more now than when you were employed, when all this is over, what would be your incentive to go back to work?
And how long can the government sustain giving everyone that much?
I can understand if you own a business, with all the overhead...
You, me and Any Del are going to have to sit tight for a while.
I finally figured out why Cuomo and Murphy want churches closed and licquor stores and smoke shops open.
Booze and cigarettes create tax revenue, churches don’t.
There are a few of us that live in and around New York City. Millions of people crowded in a small area. Hundreds dying every day.
My state (New Jersey) is tiny, but there’s nine million. At last count we had 65,000 positive cases, and 3,400 deaths. I’m a little distant from New York, but the...
Again, that’s easier to do with 30 million people compared to 330 million. In order to keep the country solvent, and to be able to have funds for medical care, unemployment and other necessities, a revenue stream has to come from somewhere. If not from higher taxes, then borrowing from...
I couldn’t agree more that people’s safety comes first. But people’s bills aren’t going to pay themselves, and if everybody defaults on loans, mortgages, medical bills, and all other financial obligations there will be no government relief big enough to bail everybody out.
And Canada can manage...
Well, we can’t stay in lockdown forever. Eventually companies will run out of money to keep employees afloat. Unemployment will get depleted at some point, and they only way to keep the coffers filled is more taxes for those still working.
I’ll say this. Among companies, Disney has done a...
