Oh I agree, people are being over diagnosed. There's a "syndrome" for everything. "Syndrome" just means a group of symptoms, it shouldn't mean every single behavior equals illness!
I've heard from many people that the US has some of the worst stress when compared to other countries. We work...
I adore the 1977 Rankin & Bass The Hobbit! It's great for its emphasis on breaking out of your shell and braving new experiences. Good luck, just make sure you don't step on anyone's copyrighting! ;)
Hmm...I hesitate because we don't want to scare off new members. On the other hand, I had a similar problem once, and taking away access for awhile did help clear it up.
I know I'm being contrary here, lol, but I'm not sure I'd send the message "it can be easy bein green." Let's face it, it can be a real pain in the neck being environmentally friendly. If you tell kids it's always supposed to be easy and fun, they'll quickly get discouraged when they eventually...
I do think these so-called medications have gone too far. The side effects are too severe and not everything can be cured with a pill.
However, I would label clinical depression as a disease (or at least something similar). Yes it's normal to be depressed and grieve at the loss of a loved...
Well I guess before then I hadn't given much thought to the Muppet performers, unless I'd already seen them in a behind the scenes special (and I didn't see Of Muppets in Men until fairly recently). I had seen little bits of the 60 Minutes special and all I could really see is Miss Piggy talking...
Oddly enough, when I've seen Willy Wonka (the original hehe), he's reminded me of Richard; seemingly harsh at times but in the end we find he'd genuinely rooting for the little guy to win. ;)
Oh I think Elmo was in great form at the William Patterson event! Which I think proves it's not really Elmo that's the problem, but just how the show itself has become more childish (as opposed to childlike). ;)
I think that's a great idea and the typical program PBS would be attracted to. And what Sesame Street deserves as an anniversary special, rather than just focusing on the newer stuff. ;)
I do remember Gobo saying "A Fraggle's got to live by the rule of the rock!" when he was about to do something gutsy. Maybe "Catch a Tail by the Tiger?"
Well you're both right, the song was about Kermit struggling and finally accepting the way he was. And the sentiment was very much identified with the Civil Rights movement at that time. :)
I'm not a fan of people re-doing songs, but I don't mind Bein' Green used for environmental messages as...
The thing is, some of the jokes Elmo does away from Sesame Street probably would have been done in similar form on the show years ago when it wasn't concerned with being "kiddie." ;)
Many older fans grew up with Elmo too; they just remember when the show was more of an ensemble piece, instead...
Yeah I'm not very into wearing makeup, though it does help with the acne, hehe. I used to refuse to wear skirts, to protest the objectivity of girls (and this was in middle school!). But now I'm more comfortable wearing them and just ignore immature people. Blue has always been my favorite...
