You know frankly, I think companies should expect this reaction from parents, even if no harm is intended. The public has been inundated with "overly mature" female figures in pop culture and they're starting to except and dread it.
Hehe, very true. They would put the classic material that Jim worked on in the early morning where no one would ever see them. In that case, I'd make sure to tape all the older stuff for my kids. ;)
Well I'd personally make sure the kids could see the older stuff too. If we really think Jim's work is truly timeless, there's no need to hide it. ;)
But I agree about Sesame Street going on in the morning. :)
People who are texting while driving, or even talking too much on their cell phone in the car (wireless or not) are endangering everyone else on the road. We need to stop being selfish and think about our surroundings.
I think people do bury themselves in technology a bit, because of stress...
Well this brings up a good point, if there were a Henson channel, I'd like to see it balanced and not just the most recent projects. But at the same time, the recent projects should be included as well since they do have fans. :)
I mean so far all Hulu has is Muppets From Space and a few recent Sesame Street clips. I just wrote to their feedback section to see if they're planning to include anything else, heh.
This seems to happen a lot, Muppets From Space gets top billing over even The Muppet Movie!
I see what you mean, a lead character is often saddled with exposition, pure information. There's less room for dramatic or emotional moments. Ricardo Montalban said he had this experience on Fantasy Island. He was always explaining the stories but never could be a part of them. He worried that...
I grew up on these specials too! They definitely contributed to the soundtrack of my childhood, so to speak. And they were probably my first exposures to the frog prince and Cinderella stories (which is sorta freaky when you think about it lol).
Like with Hey Cinderella, the prince is called...
Yeah it's those newbies that make me nervous, hehe (jk).
Well you know, people who might say, "I liked the movie better than the show!" Now I DO realize everyone is entitled to their opinion, hehe. I just don't want the companies to start favoring one opinion over the other. ;)
But yes...
Aw thanks, I mean that's the only thing that would really break my heart with this project, heh. But I'll still keep the faith!
But...either way, I just hope the movie doesn't suddenly become more available and considered more "Fraggle canon" than the original series. That does happen often.
Well I don't mind who the big names are; I don't want to pre judge based on past work. It would really depend on what they bring to the table. :)
I just hope that too much emphasis isn't put on making a movie that's supposedly "relevant to today's kids." Because 1. It's a myth that kids do not...
Nice reviews! I have to say I enjoyed the Aquatic episode when I saw it back in 1989. I found its environmental message very moving and thought its ending was perfect. We're not entirely sure if Ted will keep his promise to clean the oceans. It's all up to him (meaning it's all up to us). Then...
Honestly, I think such an idea might be better suited to the Web at this point. That way, people wouldn't have to miss shows while going to the supermarket, hehe.
For me texting is not about being lazy. It's just easier to text sometimes than having to deal with people being stressed out or distracted, hehe. Plus it actually takes MORE effort to text each letter, lol.
But I agree, kids are using texting for cheating in school which is unexceptable. When...
Exactly! I could be wrong but I wonder if it's thought that the Honkers don't quite fit with the newer style of the show. Weird random things aren't as commonplace in general.
