Overall I don't think the Marx Brothers aren't really cult now, because they're accepted as among the great classic comedians of all time.
However, I think Duck Soup was sort of a cult film, in that it wasn't too well received when it premiered in 1933, and almost cost the brothers their movie...
I've had mixed experiences with homilies, but when they are good, they are amazing. They really can help put things in perspective and serve as an inspiration. :)
It's hard; there are times when the will of the people is smarter than the law. Yet in other cases, the will of the people is flawed and needs to be overruled.
And his version of Lord of the Rings, which I honestly enjoy as much as Peter Jackson's movies (Jackson even said Bakshi's version was his first exposure to the story).
Good point, sometimes I'd trade nostalgia for actually having that feeling again every day. :)
It's just that I'm also reminded of a couple lines from Fraggle Rock such as, "lose your heart till it's new" or "You got to leave to stay." Sometimes if we keep things too close, we lose our...
Oh yeah, these Kraft commercials, hehe.

Very unusual for a special to have such a concentrated commercial time slot with virtually no other products. And this seriously makes me hungry, lol. And I love how...
Yeah I mean ideally our libraries should be able to keep up with the books being published, but I imagine money is always an issue.
On that subject, I love going to my library's little book store because someone almost always leaves an old VHS, record album or book behind, very often Muppet...
Well there's nothing wrong with helping other young ones when they get their own fairy tales, hehe. And you know sometimes growing older and away from childhood only makes you appreciate it more. And it doesn't have to mean you give up what you love completely. :)
Yeah it's interesting, people in general do automatically lower their volume in bookstores.
I always end up going to the same couple of sections: Movies & Music, Collectibles and finally CDs and DVDs. And historical type books like the history of New York City, hehe.
I do agree. ;)
Like I said, I won't boycott or anything, but I'll stand by my opinion. :)
I guess I'll sort of be like Floyd in the Robin Hood episode where he can't help Scooter move the scenery out of principal, hehe. But he and 'Scoots' are still very tight. :sing:
Yup, that's why people post Christmas commercial breaks on youtube without the actual Christmas special, hehe. You know what it is? You can watch the old Christmas specials on DVD by themselves and it's great. But something's missing, the whole atmosphere you associate with the memory of...
Since there was possibly a cut scene (judging from one of the movie books), it does look like they originally wanted to go for a real marriage, but then backed off, leaving the ending more ambiguous. We're not really sure and that's why it's an intriguing ending.
Lol, that sounds awesome. Humorous, yet to the point. :)
Yay, here's those Cotton-Fabric of Our Lives I mentioned earlier!

You know, I've been thinking. Someone might...
Oh yes, and quite an earily realisitic scenario. A young boy who's teased and shunned by the world takes out his revenge. And in the end he's saved when other kids let him know they understand.
They're so afraid to teach real lessons in kids movies now. They're not doing kids any favors...
Well to a certain extent yes, but you can't go along with everything in the present if it begins to contradict who you are in a negative way. ;)
I don't think Piggy lost any nerve in Muppets Take Manhattan. The real changes I saw were in the later when she was treated as just a joke.
Definitely! Like I said, in the '70s pop culture held up independent women more. Now we celebrate horrible behavior and victimize people for amusement.
On the Muppet Show, you got the impression that no matter how much Kermit denied his feelings, you knew it was an act. More recently, he...
Some of it is the culture. In the '70s, a strong, liberated woman was in vogue. Nowadays, it's considered more fun to ridicule women as shallow and divas.
