Oh wow, that was unexpected! Awesome! : D
I...wow I have even more respect for these guys than I did before. It's such a painstaking process (of course at least they manage to laugh a lot ;) )
I think my favorite part was Kermit, "Kermit and I are old friends" Classic blooper!
Thanks, MN, Happy 4th to you too!
I'm spending the night looking after the puppy, he's a little skiddish about his first fireworks, hehe. Well he was upset before but now he's getting used to it. He's sleeping now and when the noise happens, he just tries to curl up and ignore it, lol.
On a...
My parents were perplexed that I had absolutely no interest in reading as a child. If they read books to me I was entranced but I had trouble getting up the motivation to do it myself. Books seemed too quiet, I always "needed" to have the TV on.
We would go to the library and get books on...
Since it's the 4th of July, I thought I'd share this trip down memory lane...isn't this rather reminiscent of the Willie Wimple pieces?

I can't entirely agree. I mean yes, a play is most effectively made to be seen and heard on the stage. But I've read a lot of plays and have been able to enjoy them. If it's a story that peaks your interest, you're able to imagine and fill in the blanks of what would be there.
That's why J.D...
If we're talking about schools, it all depends on what teacher you get. There are plenty of good teachers that even now can make books come alive for students.
And anyway, whether you read or not should not depend solely on school. Plenty of people who never get the chance to go to school or...
I do remember him from Pollyanna, a very strong, heartfelt performance. Really ralling at people at Church and then having the change of heart and all.
It's sad when so many of the old school stars disapear, they really don't train actors to reach their stature anymore.
Yeah I know, I understand. :) I'm just saying, whether hard working talent or fake celebrity, we are all human beings. :) And mercy is often for those who don't deserve it.
Very true. I didn't do that for Miss Smith and I won't do it here. As I say, I don't want to whitewash Michael Jackson's life. But neither do I want to be happy over a person's death. Both of these public figures had troubles that affected both them and their families. Again, there's no point in...
Never underestimate South Park! ;)
Heh, I don't mind doing it. No child should ever have to go through what Michael Jackson apparently went through.
I just hope Jackson's children are able to live well after all this. That's more important than the music. It's alright to celebrate his music...
Good luck, Sara!
Hi Skye, missed you a lot! Man, I think they keep showing Trading Places on TV so much just to make sure every single one of us gets to see it at SOME point! Hehe ;)
MN, what's that signature from?
As talented and popular as Michael Jackson was, I agree with the words of Barry Gibb regarding the Beatles, "People don't realize how big the Beatles were. Not even Michael Jackson, I think, had the same effect." ;)
But anyway, very tragic case overall of someone who was very talented but did...
You know, I recall someone asking awhile ago (maybe in the Weekly Survey thread) who would win in a fight, Sesame Street or Muppet Show. I voted for Sesame Street because as young as they are, the Muppet Show guys are much too insane to plan a battle, lol, that's part of their charm. ;)
I still say you're not really supposed to be thinking of Big Bird as a child here, just as a character who happens to be a large bird which would attract Gonzo's attention. As someone once said about TV, "the air is thick with inconsistency." So I don't see a problem. Yes the joke was somewhat...
I mean The Muppet Show was intended to be more adult than Sesame Street. So I don't think Big Bird should be viewed in the same way when he crosses universes like that.
I remember Carroll Spinney saying he played Big Bird more like a 12 year old when he appeared on Hollywood Squares, so to...
