When I think about it, it's not so much Gonzo that's disturbing, but rather Big Bird's oblivious reaction. I mean it's one thing when he didn't understand the Swedish Chef wanted to cook him. It's another when...OK I'll stop now. Lol
Very true, it's the kind of laugh people pay more attention to than the jokes being told!
I did see that comic book on Tough Pigs, very cute! I like that Piggy is TinkerBell, it makes sense given Piggy's often jealous nature, hehe. Actually I was always kinda surprise Piggy wasn't more jealous...
I just watched it again to familiarize myself better, hehe. I mean, as Frogboy said, I don't think Big Bird was as clearly defined as a 6 year old. He was just a familiar character here. And Gonzo's just being his odd self. I mean this is a guy who also seems to be dating a cheese!
Oh yeah, you can't really dislike those characters because they're just trying to be loyal in a naive way, hehe. ;)
A Tough Pigs contributor wrote a few little Haiku poems for each episode of The Muppet Show:
I like the part at the beginning when he has to greet the Duke brothers in their car "Good morning, Mr. Duke! Good morning, Mr. Duke!" and then has to hurry to catch up with them, hehe.
That's a great scene because it mostly relies on silent acting to get the message across. Wilson starts out...
Good catch, MN!
I just saw this Blog entry, had a nice thing to say:
You know come to think of it, a lot of Richard's Muppet Show characters had that problem didn't they? Scooter and Janice couldn't move much either, compared with other Muppets. Of course if you're a Richard character you...
Oh cool, I loved Bunny Picnic, I'm trying to make it an Easter tradition (Well you know it does have bunnies in it hehe). Lugsy is sort of what most character actors enjoy playing, more than the standard hero role, because they tend to be a little more complicated and go through a variety of...
And what's funny is, some of the older people making these "standards" are the ones who grew up with these cartoons. I mean, do they think they grew up to be delinquents? ;)
It does seem that political correctness now, in its infinite wisdom, has begun to target older media as being part of the corruption of society. I mean yes, there are things in older cartoons and movies that we would now find offensive. But life has to be approached with balance, not blind...
That is getting very annoying indeed. It's the typical sort of whitewash censorship that some people think equals morality. It's nothing new, there have always been people who subscribe to that way of thinking, but those in the other camp do have to push just as hard if they want to be heard...
Aw, glad you liked it! Those were indeed the days. :)
Lol, I love Conan.
Oooo...lookie here...

...Awesome, I love the reaction he gets at the beginning when his "secret" is announced. :)
I think I remember seeing that on VH1 years ago, the Monkees were singing, "Make friends with Kool-Aid" and Davy Jones goes, "Everybody loves Kool-Aid!" Lol, they'd never let such a shameful advertising phrase be heard in commercials nowadays. ;)
