You don't hear about the rational religious people from the media. It's only the fanatics that make eye catching headlines.
Seriously, fanatics are by their nature outside the norm. They don't represent religious people in general. Yet that's all anyone hears about.
Hmm, I gotta be honest, both songs tend to remind me of why Disco is no longer around, lol.
"It's something that happened a long time ago and it's never, ever coming back." Hehe, I love Rugrats!
I did however like "Disco D," mostly because Richard Hunt sang it, lol. And "Disco Frog" was fun...
Personally I think South Park said it best, "God doesn't want you to spend all your time being afraid of **** or praising His name. God wants you to spend your time helping others, and living a good, happy life. That's how you live for Him."
No it's not weird, you should do that with every...
Agreed. My friend and I actually went to an inter-faith gathering in our community last year; it was a lot of fun. And my religion class in Middle School had an entire section on World Religions, which was fascinating. Well I was probably the only one who was fascinated, not because the other...
Catholicism advocates good works before faith. Not that faith isn't important. But that Jesus' entire ministry was focused on actively doing God's work, not just believing in him.
Lol, exactly, agents want their clients to take the job. And if they think leaving out some vital piece of information will make that happen quicker, they will do it. ;)
That's one interpretation of Christianity. :) Another is when Jesus died and resurrected he made it possible for us to earn Heaven by doing good works.
Definitely can't argue with that. :)
Yeah but agents also want to persuade their clients to make them money. ;)
Actually I'm not sure that's the case. Theater is very under appreciated. In order to get real mainstream attention, you often do have to some TV or film work.
Wow, I never thought of that, that's a good comparison actually between the gimmicks of the '50s and the 2000's. No wonder 3D has made a comeback!
Not sure what you mean? Just asking. :)
Gotcha, that makes sense. I think I also wasn't being clearly enough. I'm not here to deny that there is hypocrisy in religion. Of course there is. Where there's humans, you get hypocrisy. It just bothers me when most of the talk about religion in society is about the people who screw it up. You...
The same thing happened when Television became popular; motion pictures started to suffer. And I'm not sure they fully recovered until the 1970's. Some of this is about transition.
I think people misunderstand the idea of the afterlife. It's not about getting a reward. It's that you've made the decision to strive for a more spiritual existant. So to get to Heaven doesn't mean you were rewarded. It's that you had your priorities in order.
I don't mind people having...
Darn, those sound great, but there's no way I'm going to WalMart, lol.
Well maybe they'll pop up somewhere else. I can't believe they have Scooter though, wow! ;)
In my experience it is very difficult for even excellent actors to save a badly written script.
I'm going to be honest and say a lot of the recent Muppet improv interviews have contained far too many tasteless jokes for my liking. Improv can be wonderful, or it can crash and burn. It's pure...
Right well I said the risks will go down, not disapear. Certainly there will always be ways to hack a website, even an official one. But for the most part major sites like Netflix and iTunes are safe.
Well if it's a company like Netflix, as opposed to some random person's website, the risks of that kind of thing go down.
This is very true and it's frustrating that people aren't realizing how dangerous this can end up being.
I don't watch the show now; it's a shadow of what it was, and I'd hesitate to show it to my kids. But I have bought many of the old school DVDs and watch them all the time. As far as that goes, no I am not ashamed. Sesame Street is an important part of TV history. :wisdom:
Well I have to give props to Sesame Street Christmas Sing-Along. It wasn't Christmas in my house as a kid until I put that album on. What was especially enjoyable was the conversations between the characters in between the songs (or sometimes in between the lyrics, lol).
Big Bird: Then one...
