Well let me say, to me the most important thing is that you and your friends manage to be friends while still disagreeing on issues. I mean, big deal when we agree with our friends; that's fairly easy. ;)
As far as marriage rights, well, here's something to consider, regarding the separation...
Well correct me if I'm wrong, he was on Sesame Street in its 16th season, 1984-85. If I remember correctly, in the Special Features for The Princess Bride, Patinkin talked about how he hadn't had great luck with movies until The Princess Bride came long in 1987. So you know, he may have been...
I remember when I first learned about who Richard was, and then later heard this verse in "Saying Goodbye." For the first time I didn't just hear it as Scooter singing, I realized there was a person behind the performance. It was quite an amazing moment. ;)
Lol, oh yes, that line. My 1988 VHS does have that line. But for some reason it never occured to me that's what he was saying until years later, lol. :o
Yeah me too! Funny how in the old days we got along fine without Special Features, but now today I don't even want to buy a DVD if it...
Does the VHS cover advertise behind the scenes interviews after the movie? Does it list the year anywhere?
The interviews and behind the scenes footage in mine were incredible, very touching. The only bad part was having to listen to Spielberg try to justify digitizing E.T. Grrrr...
::shrugs:: I just didn't mind that much, lol. And sometimes it's more fun to mock something. ;)
Is that the "Fireman, he's ready to go, the fireman?" I actually agree that that was was too long and redundant, lol. The only thing that saved it for me was the great 1970's city footage. :)
Well there was a long period in between him appearing on Sesame Street and then doing the Elmo movie, right? People do change their minds about things.
See the thing is, it's one thint to protest something because you honestly don't agree with it. That's what most Americans do and it's what this country is all about. But these Westboro people are simply out of touch with reality. They are protesting because they think the military has been too...
Well the thing is, I think the other side of that argument is that, other people also have nice cars that may be a different brand than yours but still gets them where they need to go. ;)
But I do understand what you mean and I don't think faith should be a completely private thing either...
Oh my gosh, does anyone remember this? Turns out that VHS of E.T. included a 1980's commercial for the Special Olympics, in which a little boy gets help from our favorite little alien:

Really represents a time when E.T. was literally everywhere. If...
Maybe it's just nostalgia, but whenever I watch "Hey Cow" it takes me back to the old days when children's TV didn't mind slowing down its pace once and awhile.
Plus the narration is quite funny at times, "MILK....Did you ever wonder where it comes from?" My Dad and I always say, "No..." Lol
Heh, I just rented an old VHS of E.T. from the library, just before the movie started th screen said to stay tuned for some "Added Value Footage" following the feature presentation. I just thought that was funny, I rarely hear that phrase anymore, it's always "Special Features" now, lol.
That's what they said in Inherit the Wind. Always made sense to me; I never understood why that didn't catch on more!
It is annoying that religious institutions are often about laying down the law. They don't trust their followers enough to understand the faith for themselves. I see the same...
Thanks, I guess at times we all need to keep things in perspective. :)
Yeah I understand; I honestly don't mind people being non-religious. It more bothers me if I feel like only one group is being targeted, no matter what the group is. But I get you when you say you're not trying to do that...
Look of course I don't think you're supporting stoning. I was pointing out what I felt were potential flaws in your argument, that's all. There's no "guise of misunderstanding' so please don't put words in my mouth either. :)
I'll admit I was a little annoyed and I apologize for my emotions...
Um, Christians are saying they've never done a stoning, nor has their religion practiced it in living memory. That's making excuses for it? Sounds more like proclaiming innocence against accusations of something they have not done or support.
And I'm not really sure of your point. At least...
