I'm always saying this as well. But I also want to say that I can get good experiences and memories even with the newer technologies and I'm sure the kids of today will as well. Technology changes but people haven't changed all that much. :)
"When I feed the poor I'm called a Saint. When I ask why they're poor, I'm called a Communist." ;)
Part of me does want to hold out on the Blu Ray because the future may very well be in online movies. On the other hand, there are bonus features that I'd really like to see that only are on Blu...
I do too; Brian's the one I grew up with. But when I first heard the clip it sounded like the voice was kind of going in and out, so my first thought was it was Marty trying to sound like Brian. But it could also be Brian just trying something different with the character as well.
OK made another interesting VHS discovery at my library, from 1991:
Teen Vid - The Teen Magazine You WATCH Instead of Read, Premiere Issue!
A VHS Magazine, interesting concept that I'm sure parents loved, lol. :coy: I honestly don't remember ever seeing one back then, anyone else? I wonder...
I don't put up my viewing history anymore, I feel more secure that way, lol. But I think YouTube has been hijacked in the past. Like one time instead of my account name showing at the top of the page, it was somebody else's. And when I went to that user's page, everyone was writing to him "Why...
The Paley Center for Media (in New York City and Los Angeles) has a huge amount of rare Muppet specials and TV appearances, many of which aren't available online. :)
Well I get that the guy was a "Shakespearan actor" (I saw him in Twelth Night at Lincoln Center years ago) and probably felt embarrassed doing a sitcom with a puppet. But seriously, did he actually think the stiff human father was supposed to get more attention than the funny alien puppet...
Well that was in part about mental illness; nobody asks for that to happen to them, it's tragic.
Well personally I think some people should just be grateful they are working. ;)
I already said I didn't mind the guy from NPR getting in trouble. But yes, of course it was entrapment and it's completely unfair for PBS to get in the middle of this. It's basically guilt by association.
As for being "pawns," I mean there are certainly times I wouldn't want to see the...
It's unbelievable about Japan; my prayers go out to all of them. You know we've stopped being so afraid of nuclear power in recent years after the Cold War ended, but that doesn't mean the problem went away.
Eh so what if Janice can't hold her guitar right, has Guy Smiley ever even tried to...
Well I think that kind of character was just very big in the '80s overall, the middle to upper class suburban teenage boy, whose preppy appearance belies his rebellious nature, hehe. ;)
Hmm, this will take awhile to think about, lol, but I'll add one off the top of my head:
Disney's Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs: For some reason this was one classic Disney film I didn't grow up with as a young child; my parents just never bought the VHS. But when I was in middle school I was...
I don't really look at it as reward. More like taking responsibility for living a good life and realizing what's important. Like I said, the afterlife is symbolic of what's truly important, so that is what we should be striving for. So it's not seeking reward, it's simply having your priorities...
Ooo now this is an intriguing article!
Sesame Street Neighbors Go to Washington
http://blogs.babble.com/strollerderby/2011/03/15/sesame-street-neighbors-go-to-washington/
I mostly dislike the Book of Revelations because it's filled with bizarre superstitions that had pretty much nothing to do with Jesus.
Regarding the afterlife, the idea is that it represents the spiritual aspects of our exists, as opposed to the current world which represents our material and...
Right, well that's what bothers some people, that Ferris Bueller glorifies naughty behavior without showing kids the consequences. But again, I think the idea of the story is that the whole time Ferris was trying to force Cameron to stand up for himself. They were all about to graduate and if...
Because the Confederate army was fighting for the right to keep slavery legal.
I'm not saying everyone who owns a Confederate flag is racist. Some just do it for a general pride in the South. But others use it to support a racist message.
