Oh yeah it's a pretty rare book now, very expensive, lol. I haven't bought it yet but I was able to borrow it a couple of times when I interned at The Museum of TV & Radio. A lot of really good photos and anecdotes about Richard. Good luck saving up! :)
There is one quick scene where you can see Richard and the others filming a scene for Fraggle Rock. I believe thats it, but overall I'd definitely recommend Henson's Place, a lot of great interviews and takes you back to a real high point in the Muppets history. :)
Have you seen Of Muppets and...
Cool, Fersureitsjess! I grew up watching Henson's Place, I think it started my love of documentaries in general, hehe. Were you surprised that Scooter and Janice were performed by the same person?
To be honest, I've tasted maybe a little bit of a radish once in my entire life, lol. I just never grew up on them, never developed the interest I guess!
You mean like in Shelley Duvall's Faerie Tale Theatre? I just got the box set for Christmas, lol. I haven't seen the Pee Wee Herman one yet, but I remember seeing the previews back in the day.
For the box set as a whole, I actually like the show even more than when I was a kid, there's so...
I agree; there's nothing educational or particularly helpful about Political Correctness. It's all based in fear and irrationality.
Sesame Street had already addressed the concept of faith very well in Christmas Eve on Sesame Street in a subtle yet meaningful way. And then parents are free to...
Aww, I like the Animal one. I believe someone on Tough Pigs once described it as: "Animal just got out of the dryer" LOL :halo:
Not to put a damper on all this, but I don't want to criticize these toys too much; they are probably made by children in sweatshops for very little money.
The thing is, kids also enjoy not doing their homework. That doesn't mean we as adults should just accept it. ;)
That's great! There's this myth that people love to convince themselves of that kids won't respond to older entertainment. They just accept it without finding out if it's really...
Plus Steve did say he was mainly doing an imitation since he honestly didn't really understand where Beaker came from as a character. Whereas I get the feeling Richard always knew exactly what Beaker was saying, lol.
Reminds me of a 1929 German play by Bertolt Brecht called "St. Joan of the Stockyards" ("Die Heilige Johanna der Schlachthöfe"). A group of religious women (sort of a Salvation Army thing) go out to the poor, offering them food and telling them they need not be miserable in their poverty if they...
I have that episode! I don't know, I love Fat Albert but I wasn't completely satisfied with that episode's lesson. I agree that the girl needed to learn to accept her parents' divorce and move on, but it almost felt like they were telling her she was being selfish by being in denial and trying...
The 21st century in America anyway. ;)
I was reading this essay on belief.net on the topic. It acknowledges that unmarried men were considered unusual during that time (though not completely nonexistant). In the end, it speculates that Jesus' apparent lack of family went along with his whole...
Well I did mention the OT Abraham story as well if you recall. ;)
Right, but the fact that the Bible is showing the women to be right is what's impressive for that time. :)
