Eh, I'm much more forgiving of modern stuff up until the episodes started on HBO (not blaming HBO, just to be clear). They had really just started to hit a sweet spot of sketches/songs that had a classic feel with a modern sensibility. Then they just chucked it all away.

Yes, it's lifted from the Snuffy revealed episode. There's going to be a clip of it in the special (with JGL inserted in like that Martians snippet), so that explains why they used it in the promo.

That was a very recent development, so I don't think it would've affected her availability for this (especially because the character line-up was announced months ago).
