Yeah, ultimately I backed out on those posters and went with a simpler design that I hung around the school ("All hands in!" :p) but not because of the kiddie entertainment factor, mostly because I didn't want to waste ink on so many color photo filled flyers.
First meeting is Wednesday...
Oh, yeah, I forgot the deal with HIT expires this year. I hope the Hensons find a new video distributor. I'm thinking maybe a certain Mouse House that might get the frog back into DVD's of certain Christmas specials...
But anyway, this sounds very exciting!
Yeah, that's exactly what I keep thinking. Besides, this is perfect karma towards my director, teach her a lesson for casting with favortism in mind over talent. Did I mention that during callbacks she directly lied to me and said I'd be the puppeteer and then put up the cast list and changed...
Are there any good restaurants near WPU? Maybe we should all do dinner before the event!
Edit: I just looked online and found a Friday's in Wanye, NJ (don't ask why Friday's, it's a tradition of sorts at my school to go to Friday's after huge events). Maybe someone should make reservations so...
All great observations/questions!
The purpose of the club is all you mentioned. We will enjoy watching other puppeteers, learning puppetry and performing and constructing puppets are part of the criteria the club follows. I modeled the format of the club after another member on here's...
Well, I figured I'd put together a full thread for my school's newly-founded Puppetry Club (founded by me! :) ). Right now, we're in the period of having to make flyers to promote our first meeting on the 20th (gotta start somewhere) and am working on ideas... anyone have any? I need to make...
I know, but at the end of the day, it's my director's problem and no one else's, if she wants one of her favorites to be the puppeteer of the plant over a trained puppeteer, that's her loss. Especially since I just started a Puppetry Club at this very same school (my meeting with the principal...
Yeah, I can't find anything on the internet about Avenue Q closing but if it is... real shame. My favorite musical still had a pretty great run. I'd want to see it one more time before it closes.
Amazon seems to have a picture of the back of the box now, revealing the bonus features.
An interview with Caroll Spinney (WHOA!)
Jump to songs feature (ported from the last DVD I take it)
Sing-along subtitle track (eh, okay I guess)
DVD-ROM downloadable coloring sheets
Theatrical...
Since we were just talking Narnia and it's bad release date, when do you guys think Disney should release this movie? I'm pretty sure Disney doesn't want to release it during the January-April death season for movies or right around back to school time.
Looking over the movies being released...
Well, if you know my school theater: favortism goes into play quite frequently (our actress playing Audrey didn't even have to read, she got the role by default and cast members who didn't even show up to callbacks were cast in big roles).
Oh, man... I LOVE MST3K! I discovered completely by accident on the morning of March 16, 2002 to be exact, the episode was Boggy Creek II and I was in complete awe of the whole concept. By that summer, I got to see my first Joel episode via DVD (I Accuse My Parents, a personal favorite of mine)...
Shot in the dark, but I personally wouldn't mind Tim Burton directing a Muppet film. He'd be a good fit for the Muppets if you ask me. The Muppets are just as quirky as his movies are and note that many of the protagonists in his movies are misfits/outsiders different from the crowd (Pee-Wee...
It's typical for directors to have 2-3 year gaps between their films (e.g. quite a few years passed for Spielberg between Schindler's List and The Lost World: Jurassic Park), I guess Frank will probably film something this year. I'd love to see him direct the new Muppet film, even if he doesn't...
Unfortunatly, my auditions did not go well. My director is so biased towards the same 5-6 kids for leads so one of them got to be the puppeteer and I'm just in the ensemble. I'd go into the painful details of what happened after that audition, but I won't. At least not on the forum.
It's largely dependent on how much the puppet is used. It is only natural that the foam in the puppet's body will deterorate over time, that's a given. I have puppets that are eight years old and they, despite being pretty worn out on the inside, are still in performable shape on the outside. So...
