^I actually don't think they will replace Elmo, at least not immediately. There's too much negative press, and too many parents who can't see that the character is not the man. We probably won't see Elmo for quite a while.
To those saying they will replace Elmo, yes, that's probably true. But I doubt we'll be seeing Elmo for quite some time. The stigma attached to him is too negative, thanks to TMZ and other sensationalist news sources.
Like someone else mentioned, if Clash was a rapper, he would still be...
This new accuser is obviously full of it. He just realized how much damage it caused? He was on a gay chatroom in 1993? He wants 5 million for his emotional damage, which he wasn't even aware of until last week?
Screw these people. I can't comment on the first guy, but I can say, these other...
Unfortunately, no. Last I knew, the first draft was completed, and it was going through the editorial process. I'm very excited/anxious to hear more.
The last update he gave was a tribute to Jerry Nelson, but mentioned nothing about the book, apart from the fact that he had interviewed Nelson...
Ah, I just saw this! Very sad. I wish it was more widely reported in the news.
Really loved her work. She was hilarious in Invader ZIM, great way to end a career. And hey, the woman was what, 95? Most of us can only hope to get that far up there.
I don't understand why there's controversy. Disney has handled the Muppets fairly well. Obviously, I have my reservations, but that new movie of there's worked out pretty ok. ;)
No one can screw up Star Wars better than George Lucas. Anyone remember the Star Wars Christmas Special? Remember...
I've never made any claims of having superior knowledge to anyone else. Just as was the problem with the first film, I don't like how the new Muppet Movies are being created outside the Muppet family. That's an opinion. It's not being presented as fact.
I'm sorry that I'm not bleeding...
Anyone else not psyched about new Muppets? You can't create characters unless you're a performer. Sorry, but I'm sticking to that.
Obviously, I'm psyched there's a second film, but I wish they were doing something more original than doing what sounds like a tribute to the Great Muppet Caper.
It was a beautiful event. I'm still collecting my thoughts... Seeing Steve Whitmire, Dave Goelz, Bill Barretta, Louise Gold, Matt Vogel, and a host of other Muppet alum, kind of broke my mind a little. :)
Honestly, I can't imagine a more beautiful tribute to Mr. Nelson and his work.
Brian Jay Jones, the Jim Henson Company-sanctioned Jim Henson biographer, posted a short tribute to Nelson, with the promise of a longer one once he collects his thoughts. http://brianjayjones.com/
Kevin Clash is a remarkable performer. I always enjoy Elmo OFF the Street more than on the Street, because Clash does so well in off-the-cuff interviews.
But to me, Elmo on Sesame Street represents the dumbing down of the show. He rose to popularity when everything started becoming politically...
Cliched though it is, I've always loved Floyd, for obvious reasons.
Although I think one of the greatest examples of his vocal versatility can be seen in "The Dark Crystal." You've got the Emperor, with his high pitched, gritty voice, and the High Priest, with his powerful, bellowing voice. In...
That's the thing. The original Muppet gang - I mean, ORIGINAL original start of the company in the 50s and 60s - was comprised of Jim Henson, Frank Oz, Jane Henson, Don Sahlin, Jerry Juhl, and Jerry Nelson.
Now it's just Jane Henson and Frank remaining. At least, in this life.
