Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
That phrase typically pertains to musical theater or musical film. It just means script/blocking/so on and so forth.
(On a side note, I just wanted to say that Jerry Juhl is one of the guys in the Henson Company that doesn't get enough love. That guy was a pure genius and a bad pun writing...
Steve Whitmire & Eric Jacobson do a great job with Piggy and Kermit, but I don't think the Ernie/Bert dynamic can be imitated as easily. That was a Henson/Oz dynamic, unique to their friendship.
Yeah, the script was bad. It was sappy and dark in all the wrong places, formulated to make audiences cry and to win oscars and emmys. Lots of Jim/Jane fight scenes, and maudlin moments like Kermit walking through the ER as Henson dies, singing "I'm Going to Go Back There Someday." Really...
Sorry! I was worried the thread title wasn't clear enough, and I was right!
The Henson biopic was postponed indefinitely, for two reasons:
1) Too many inaccuracies with the script in question.
2) Too many conflicts with copyright between Henson Co, Disney, and Sesame Workshop.
Anyway, YAY book!

From Brian Jay Jones' blog:
It’s a been a lonely year for this blog, I know. Looking back, I see I’ve written exactly five entries since January 2012–an anemic pace, to be sure. I wish I was one of those prolific blogging machines, but the truth is I’m not the...

This reminds me of the time I lost all faith in humanity again!
(Flashback: MrBloogarFoobly reads the article. Suddenly, the Fonze comes in and says "AYYY!" and MrBloogarFoobly says, "Oh no! You get killed in Scream!")
That was crazy!
Though I am of the cantankerous "Sesame Street ain't what it used to be!" camp, it's STILL the best program for children out there. I shudder to think what would replace it.
This isn't even a question. Kermit is part of Jim Henson's spirit. As good of a job as Whitmire has done, he's only a medium, channeling that part of Henson's soul (cheesy as that sounds.)
Got to agree. There are "more sophisticated" Muppet fans, but that doesn't make the fanbase as a whole more sophisticated. There are some really obnoxious quacks out there who like Muppets just as much as the friendly, normal people.
As for the third accuser, let's see this book of his. I...
An unsuccessful actor and model, might I add.
These three new accusers are obviously digging for cash/limelight. This is pure fraud and defamation of character. This Cecil jerk is the worst. He's clearly an exhibitionist, an attention-seeker, and a gold digger.
He has been quoted on his...
