It was indeed Jon Stone who objected to the idea (and the many other changes) going on to the show. But as Snowth pointed out, he must've liked the Furry Arms. I have to get the 40th anniversary book though, lol.

Dude, I literally laughed for like 10 minutes after I read this, lol. :D Really, it seemed almost EVERY character were lacking appearances this season except Abby, Murray, and Elmo. It just made the season dull seeing these same 3 characters EVERY episode. And with the repeats of the segments...
