Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
One thing to like about SS these days has to be the increasing presence and use of the girl muppets on the show. After years of "trying to find a lead female role model for our young girl viewers", it seems SW has finally got it right this time. Even though it was already fine with Rosita and...
Thanks for clearing that up. Who would have thought Grover would play a minor role in his own show!:p And surprise for me that Gene ACTUALLY required a performer, guess I didn't look into that that much when I saw it live, lol.
Yeah, I must admit EGT took some time getting used to for me, but...

It's the VERY last song at the end of the video(26:12). I personally love it and think its pretty underrated (or am I overrating it right now LOL) in terms of SS songs. It also, IMO, should have been one of Elmo's signiture songs. Again, I'm probably...
LOL dude I had to double check to see if you were cursing or not, :-P but I know what character you're talking about.:D The character doesn't even look evil based on pics! :p
Well, if the story was taking place in NY, and filming of the actual movie took place in California, couldn't it be possible if they built a set in Cali that simply looked like a duplicate of NY? This is Hollywood we're talking about.
Very difficult to figure out the casting, but I'm guessing it'll be...
Super Grover
Elmo
Zoe
Abby
Telly
Kay(?)/ Oscar
Blue Honker (tall u/s)
Baby Bear (or Rosita?)(medium u/s)
Prairie Dawn or Roxie (small u/s)
Big Bird/ Number 0, vegatable
Ernie/ Sheep/ vegatable
Bert/ Sheep/ vegatable(?)...
Wow...they're good. :p I'm officially convinced Elmo runs the street now, lol. (EDIT: though I know eventually I will once again go on a rant about how much this guy is overexposed, hehe)
Nice art work there too.:D I know Super Grover is somewhere p.i.s.s.e.d, haha.
I cannot wait to see what...
Really? So they're all basically downsized theater tours huh? Wow that's something. And they're getting rid of the "infamous" ramp/maxi stage. Wow. Kinda speechless on that right now...
*sigh*...I have yet to visit Disney World yet, but part of my reason wanting to go WAS to visit Toontown. Such a shame they're getting rid of it.:sympathy:
Hmmm...the "hinting" in this article completely gives it away now! They're bringing back Super Grover! Ready for Action huh? I mean Ready for Action...no, wait! It's Elmo! Ready for Action. Or whatever they call it this time.:p
Seems kinda soon, considering it was JUST taken off the circuit...
Gee that's pretty awsome Mr. Spinney was happy to be performing "the Bird" again.:)
Say SpinneyBird1, since you seem to be real close to Caroll Spinney, do you think you could clear up the rumor that's been circulating in this thread for awhile? If so, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.;)
The one's I'm really good at are Elmo(surprisingly) and Big Bird. I'm also good at imitating Prairie Dawn, Grover, Cookie Monster and Bert/Fozzie, though you can say my Bert and Fozzie sounds more like Eric's than Frank's, and my Grover doesn't have the "gruffness" in his voice, lol.
:wisdom:
*bump*
:coy:
LOL...don't mean to be a "thread bumper" here...but anyone remember that crazy night? Lol. :insatiable:
Who knew that would've had such an impact? :p
Seriously, this thing should have been called "The Stars Come Out on Sesame Street" (yeah, I know, it's in refrence to a certain record of the same name.:D) It's basically a crap fest of celebs singing on SST and Elmo just happened to be there at the right time. Calling it the "Best of Elmo 2"...
Yeah, it makes sense since you broke it down that way.
And funny, Let's Play School would have been my second guess, lol. I guess it didn't have enough Elmo in it? :D
And I agree, VEE should dig out one of the real old shows from the Henson days, i'd LOVE to see one of those (of course it...
Well, IMO, he was featured quite well in Season 39. This past season however, it seemed that he and other characters weren't featured as much, only Elmo and Abby. While there's really not much an excuse for the absence of him and others, could it just be it's hard to write for certain characters...
According to a youtube post, as mentioned by SpinneyBigBird1095, they say Big Bird is only to appear in only four episodes of the upcoming Season 41. I surely hope this isn't the case, cause it would definately seem like a new low for SW. It's almost seeming like they're starting to phase out BB...
