Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
I have two Kermit watches and a Fozzie Bear watch--I'm usually wearing one of the three...I also have a Kermit sticker on the back of my car, a Kermit hanging from my rearview mirror, and a Kermit keychain.
And about 40 Rubber Duckies in the bathroom, although it's not necessarily Muppety...
The short version:
1) Children really ARE that easy to please
2) Parents really ARE that (stupid, lazy, whatever it is)
3) The only remotely Disney-related sequels I'll EVER see are the Toy Story flicks, and those are Pixar and John Lasseter, NOT NOT NOT Disney.
It seriously makes my...
I'm glad someone told Lucas to pull his head out and put this out before Christmas...although most of my friends already have it on DVD--frequent trips to Hong Kong and copyright violators, dontchaknow...
I'll be happy to wait for the legal version. I just wish we'd see the original trilogy...
I'm....skeptical. But hopeful. The previous Spidey series' combinations of traditional and computer animation have been abyssmal--but after the recent movie, and with the new studio, it sounds like they may be throwing more money at the project.
I'm half-embarrassed to say that my...

Okay, I need to take back SOME of what I said:
I just saw the link to the toys from the Great Pumpkin special, and that features Charlie Brown, Sally, Lucy, Linus, and Schroeder in their "correct" colors....I just don't get why they would do it the other way. I will probably...
Yeah, I thought these would get a higher profile debut than they've been getting; I think they look good, but I have one major issue with them:
THE COLORS!!! Pop questions: what color is Lucy's dress? Charlie Brown's shirt? Linus' shirt?
Answers:
Lucy's dress--blue
Charlie...
Hey Mupps--I forgot to include this in that last mesage, but they're both unrelated anyway, except by way of making me very wealthy...
I just found out yesterday that I've passed all the tests and interviews and everything to be in the contestant pool for the new syndicated version of "Who...
Hey, everyone,
Some of you old-timers know the circumstances behind my losing my job of seven years last year with the Salt Lake Newspapers, and how messed up THAT was, and the 4 months of unemployment right when the new baby was on the way.
That was the worst time of my life. Ever...
Out of the "retired characters," I'd have to say Rowlf, Janice, and Scooter--although I don't really know who else has been "retired." I'd love to see the Electric Mayhem returned to their position of prominence in the gang in whatever the next Muppet Project is.

I chose Gonzo because he's always been one of my favorites--and one of the Muppets I've loved in EVERY incarnation of him, whether it's his early stuff from the Muppet Show and the first three movies, the more recent stuff (although I wish he'd go back to his own wardrobe), and EVEN the Muppet...
I have serious, deep, passionate, uh...let's stop there...feelings for Miss Piggy. Not exactly sure how it happened, but I think she's dead sexy, has a great personality, is assertive, sensitive, and she's always got snacks around. She does have jealousy issues and is a little emotional at...
It's good to be a sap sometimes--as long as you don't mind getting mocked for it later.
I think one of the strongest strengths of the Muppets (under Jim Henson's tutelage, anyway, and in their best projects since then) has been the sense of "family" inherent in the characters' love for each...
The Count himself used to scare me a bit--I mean, he's purple, has fangs...although his fashion sense is impeccable with the goatee and green cape, he's always accompanied by bats, spiders, thunder and lightning--what's not to be scared of?
The Yip-Yip Martians always unnerved me too--maybe...
LOL---"Yellow Whatnot" WAS Third on the list for boys. Hopefully we'll only have two boys, then. They might take it as some sort of racial slur, and then I'd REALLY be in for it.

Hey Byron,
Why was Lion-o always calling Cheetarah the "Thundercats' Ho?" Couldn't she just have run up and beat the hoo-hoo out of him?
I just saw something Thundercatty and thought of you, and then I thought, "bah, he's probably still on his Letter C boycott, and I can't talk about it...
SPEAKING of Sesame Street Humans:
We named our son Miles. (he's still FRIGGING cute, btw)
Our two most popular names for girls were Olivia and Susan.
We didn't realize until we had picked his name that that was the name of Gordon and Susan's boy. And then that our top three names...
Hey.
I was half-watching Star Wars: The Phantom Menace today, don't ask me why, and I was wondering:
Was Waldo the first digital/computer animated character that was a part of the live-action segments of television series/movie? I know about Roger Rabbit, but I'm talking computer...
Jonathan,
The only members of Electric Mayhem who were ever on "Muppet Babies" were Animal (of course) and Janice had a one-time appearance. Unfortunately, I don't have any pics of her from that. Statler and Waldorf looked just like they did as old men, but with darker hair. No pics of...
The 3-foot tall Namco "Crack-Ho" Piggy getting to second base with my wife's sister. THAT'S a disturbing Christmas Eve.
And a horribly made Muppet product.
But I did use it in the carpool lane once.
Heh-heh
Quinnnnnnnnnn
DANG--I was just in Hot Topic the other day, and didn't see any new Muppety stuff. I must have missed the shipment. Maybe I'll go down there tomorrow...
But everytime I go in, I want to SPEND too much!
