...I thought it was my boss blocking the Palisades site. WHEW.
I was just going to make some brilliant comment about the SDCC coverage, but now I don't remember what it was.
Then I was going to make some tasteless joke.
And then I was going to offer some Dr. Pepper to people.
But...
Actually TWO free trips! And on the second one we got to go to the Jim Henson Company!
Really, the trips were as cool (if not cooler) than the 8 grand, since if we had really won big, the number one thing we wanted to do was travel. So two free trips to NYC was a big deal to us.
Then...
Thanks Erin--I think the "cool and easy-going" thing happened because of judicious editing, so you didn't see me wetting my pants or anything. Or maybe I've just wet them so often that I look really collected while I'm doing it.
I am kinda bugged that they edited Melissa completely out of...
Scarecroe has a point, JJJ.
My take on it is that some of the 1970 Sesame Street books may be valuable, because there are few of them left. If you're not a SS fan yourself, you may want to eBay them, but you're not gonna get a whole lot for them. If you like them yourself at all, keep them...
I do think it's a shame that Rowlf, Scooter and Janice have been completely pushed aside--I'm hoping with projects like VMX they're starting to return to new Muppet projects. I think the Electric Mayhem should be restored to the prominence it once had, and I think the ideas of like an "EM...
They weren't even going to show the Little People on the air because they didn't want to start a Richard Dawson-Family Feudish tradition of people bringing little gifts for the host, but Meredith Vieira wanted them to be shown because she loved them. From what I hear, she kept them because she...
...and there's a nice full-page pic of the Dark Queen in a sort of masquerade mask looking into a sort of crystal ball thingy at a young woman.
Looks very cool--I don't know much about this, but if they're comparing it to Dark Crystal and Labyrinth my interest is piqued.

July 18th 2003 Entertainment Weekly, page 25:
"Children of the 80's should fondly recall "Labyrinth" and "The Dark Crystal," Jim Henson's moody cinematic forays. Now the late Muppeteer's company has tapped writer Neil Gaiman (the "Sandman" comics) and director-illustrator Dave McKean for a...
LOL!
Kev, I was just looking at your new avatar just out of the corner of my eye, and I thought "now THAT'S an ugly Fozzie..."
:o :halo:
Turns out it was my OWN "handiwork." Sometime I should really go back and remake those. Or just savor their hideousness.
Quinnnnnnnnnnnnn
Thanks people.
Those cartoons...wow. That's from a long time ago. I did about ten more of them in the same vein, and lost them in one of our moves. I'll have to do some more of them at some point; maybe if my cartooning contract with the U doesn't get picked up again this fall.
Glad...
Whatchou talking 'bout, Sarah?
Do you mean romantic relationships?
Because I'd still consider Kermit/Piggy, Gonzo/Camilla, and Floyd/Janice to be right up there as long-lasting relationships. I mean over 20 years is pretty darn good for fictional characters.
If you're considering...
Exactly. And when you compare Palisades release/shelf dates to other toy lines out there, they actually do a great job...I haven't seen a new Star Wars figure on the shelf in Salt Lake City since December...although they've "released" over 20 figures in the last seven months.
:sympathy...
