Here's a couple more:
(1) This one was part cartoon. There was a real boy and a little cartoon man.
The little man was exploring all around the boy and explaining what the various body parts were called and their function. When he was near the boy's teeth he said he better be careful because...
:) Ever see the one where Lefty the Salesman sells Ernie some air from a bottle? That was Ernie at his best for me. I laugh out loud every time I think of Ernie fretting to Bert, "Ohh ohh I lost my air. ohhh. I lost my air." And Bert just standing there looking like he's thinking, "What in the...
Yep, two distinct clips there. I had forgotten about the one you mentioned till you mentioned it, but remember it clear as a bell now. In the one I mentioned I think the waviness actually took up a little bit more space than just the outer edge of the screen. Like leaving an oval shape of about...
Ah yeah I remember this one too. Same type of skit with more muppet participants. The one with Grover and the two anything muppets had a kind of cool moving waviness all around the edges of the screen throughout. Also, thanks for those photos, Convincing John. Always a pleasure to see 70's SS pics.
Sorry, I'm not very good at exact years of skits. I never saw any Noggin Unpaved shows. It was definitely shown by 1975. And I don't think I saw this in my very early SS days (1969-1972) so I would estimate that the skit is from 1973,1974, or 1975.
Uh oh, here comes a possible big money book deal , made for tv movie, and network interviews for the runaway bride:

Hopefully, the book sales will flop and the tv ratings will be ultra low...
When I first saw this thread title the city mouse and country mouse was what came to mind. :) But I never saw the one you described. But the title and some of the words also bring to mind the theme song of my beloved "Green Acres". I wonder if this SS musical skit was based at all on it. The...
Remember a sketch with Grover and 2 anything muppets? The screen was kind of wavy around the edges and there was like a slow rhythmic clapping sound effect. This blue muppet (looked a lot like Simon Soundman) comes up the screen and starts going, "bom bom bom bom bom bom bom bom bom bom bom bom...
Nice observation there, D'Snowth. I never noticed that. I'll have to look for it. I don't recall Oliver ever adding another beam on the porch. Maybe the set directors at one point thought it appropriate to add a third one. That railing on the left hand side that Oliver kept having to fix because...
Looking at a "Green Acres" site today I found this explanation given for the age discrepancy:
"According to his birth certificate, he was born April 22 1908, however according to recent reports, his mother may have changed his birth certificate because she was single at the time of his birth...
Ding Dong!! Another bell has been rung in this skit! As soon as you said, "A marble is round." I remember Ernie saying that and Bert's exasperated "ahhh!"
And then the music at the end. I recall precisely how that music went too, but very hard to describe. It had about five or six tones. Thanks...
Yeah I just put Baltimore radio on the internet (WCMB 680am) and they said it was 90. Interesting that Philly, which is a little bit north of Baltimore, has Baltiomore beat in temperature today by a few degrees. Let me check at a weather site what Miami is..... Wow just checked and it's 88...
Yeah in "To be or not to be" I especially enjoyed her and husband Mel Brooks doing the opening song "Sweet Georgia Brown" in Polish. Enjoyed the whole movie too. It's probably my fave by Mel Brooks. Either that or the very funny "Blazing Saddles" (LOVE the opening theme song in that movie too!)...
An even hotter pre-summer day in Philly today. 93 right now and going up to about 95 this afternooon. A little while ago I was out mowing the lawn in it. Since I have the day off I thought I would get the lawn taken care of. Big mistake! It was unbearable! But then again, now my lawn is finished...
So sorry, dietrich. I don't think I ever saw this one. I watched SS regularly until about 1977, Olivia's second year, so this probably happened afterwards. But maybe some members here who watched SS regularly in the early to mid 80's will be to recall some details for you. Thanks for asking...
Searching down for the specific comments on jumptheshark.com I see one person says, "In 1985, Alaina Reed, who played Olivia, left to play Rose on 227." So that would be a different character but because she went to another show, which is hardly the same thing as if SS switched Olivia's...
Thanks Mike. I forgot a lot of this remembering skit! A lot of these old skits would be so fun to see again. The ones I recall totally would be great to enjoy seeing again. The ones I recall some of would be great to see how the forgotten parts went. And the ones I remember virtually nothing of...
A little surprising that the Monroe brothers lead the jump the shark votes. Everyone I've ever heard comment on them likes them. On Sesame Street, however, it's not at all surprising what by far made the jump the shark list - ELMO! But I would have voted for, "When they got rid of the vintage...
Wondering if Sesame Mike, mikebennidict or any other classic SS fans with great memories knows any details of an early 70's Ernie and Bert skit with a basketball. The skit was listed as "Ernie puts the basketball away" in another thread. It's one skit of Ernie and Bert I saw but recall virtually...
I have an idea of what you are referring to but been so long since I've seen it that I just can't recall the neat visuals too well. But the sounds I recall clear as a bell.
By the way, I LOVE how you typed in my , "tuh... TUH TUH!" sound description! Made me LOL hard , as internet lingo would...
