Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
Besides the fact that the show doesn't show old material anymore (and I'm not sure if they even show fullframe material anymore), there clearly aren't any issues regarding Kermit the Frog appearances. We've gotten quite a few Sesame Street DVDs since 2004 (not to mention 2000, when Henson sold...
I guess I can think about a few things, besides what I heard being incorrect. Maybe Disney changed its policy between your Star Wars uploads and when I read about the no block policy (or vice versa).
Or maybe it's a third party rights or distribution thing (depending on whether you were told...
I've never really been able to comprehend the change in Hooper's Store from season 40. The 40th anniversary book says that the old Hooper's Store represents a time that's no longer relevant, but I don't see it. I feel like there are restaurants (at least local ones) that aren't too different...
The trailer has footage of Jim Henson talking about Caroll Spinney at some kind of party or event. In Spinney's autobiography, he mentions that Jim Henson threw him a party once to celebrate his tenth or fifteenth season on the show. I wonder if that footage comes from that party.

Whatever's coming up, I hope we get an official announcement soon. I assume they were talking about upcoming productions/appearances and not, say, the Diamond Select figures (would they be in a position to know of secret upcoming merchandise?).
But most of this years Muppet news has been...
I think that's happened a number of times. They reused the same audience shots many times, regardless of whether anybody in the audience or orchestra pit are on-stage. Though I don't know off-hand of any other instances where that has happened.
Well he was still wearing clothes.
I kind of had that logic around the time of Muppets from Space, up until sometime after the Palisades era was over. With so many characters (and so many favorites) it is hard for every favorite to be included (it would be an interesting task to list all of my really big favorites and then...
Chapter 4
"Well, there's one way to get out of here without breaking down the door", said Timmy, "we must find the key!"
"How do you know that the key is in there?", asked Sweetums.
"I don't", said Timmy, "I was going to use my detective skills to find the key, as soon as somebody pays...
One other thing I forgot to mention is that this year there really hasn't been much new Muppet news. The Muppet Mindset had it's first news rundown article of this year a few weeks ago, but it seems like news for the Muppets has been so scarce that most news items have gotten their own articles...
Chapter 3
Timmy, Sweetums, and Thog were all outside of the now-closed bakery, all sad.
"What should we do now, Timmy?", asked Thog.
"I don't know", said Timmy, "I'm not used to starring in my own story, not even a fan fic."
"I know!", said Sweetums, "we can form a detective agency. We'll...
What if there was a Mario Party-style game where all of the mini-games had to do with the movies? Let's call it Muppet Movie Party (though Disney would likely call it Muppets Movie Party).
The Muppet Movie Mini-Games: (ideas borrowed from Mo Frackle's list)
Kermit rides his bike in a...
I'm thankful that we still get plenty of new articles for The Muppet Mindset each week (even though for the past year it's been uncommon to get any articles on the weekend, and in the last few weeks it seems the Mindset has been skipping at least one other day of the week). There haven't been...
So are series finales now premiering earlier in the TV season than season finales? Last year we got the How I met Your Mother season finale in March (but I'm glad because then we got to see the ending sooner) and this year we got the Two and a Half Men finale a few weeks ago (I should say I'm...
Chapter 2
"Well, there's only one thing to do now", said Timmy, "raise the prices."
"NO!", shouted everybody.
"What else can I do besides raise the dough?", asked Timmy.
"We can, uh, we can file a police report!", said Sal.
"A police report?", asked Timmy, "Isn't that a bit too...
That all sounds good, but I doubt some of those things would be done in a video game, like spotting John Landis in a crowd (unless it's a picture of the performers with their characters) and Charlie McCarthy being in the game.
I think I saw somebody mention a year or two ago that Rowlf's "why does everyone always blame dogs?" line in response to Martin Price saying that he smelled something was meant as a fart joke, but I had always thought of that as just him being accused of having a bad dog smell.
In The Muppets Character Encyclopedia, it is said that Timmy Monster has retired from show business and opened his own bakery, Timmy's Treats. This is a fan fic involving that place.
Chapter 1
It was a typical day at Timmy's Treats. Business was typical - the place got just enough...
Actually, it was before Jim Henson died. It premiered in 1987, but performances continued past 1991 (I think Muppet Wiki says it toured until 1992). So you probably saw it after Jim Henson died (I think I did as well) and the program must have had a dedication added in (I wonder if they did that...
