    General Muppets Palisades Discussion

Here's my collection. All of them are open on display unless otherwise stated. A lot of them are pretty banged up since I played with them a lot as a kid: Series 1: Kermit the Frog Miss Piggy Dr. Teeth Dr. Bunsen Honeydew Miss Piggy EB Exclusive Muppet Labs with Beaker Series 2: Fozzie Bear...

    Remembering Jerry Nelson (July 10, 1934-August 23, 2012)

Great find! I never knew how Jerry's speaking voice really sounded until now. It amazes me even more that he created such a diverse range of voices: The Count, Herry, Floyd, Robin, Sherlock Hemlock, the Amazing Mumford, Lew Zealand, Dr. Strangepork, Gobo, Pa Gorg, Beard, etc. I know Jim's voice...

You might be an obsessed Muppet fan if...

YMBAOMF if... you count sheep, fire engines, and balloons to fall asleep you list Thudge McGirk as one of your favorite horror actors you get very protective and aggressive around prized possessions made of gold (Shirley Bassey episode, anyone?) you once held a sing-along with your friends in...

    Has Herry been retired?

Good point. Do you think that if Sherlock were to be recast, Matt Vogel would perform him? I think that Sherlock sounds a little bit like Floyd Pepper with an English accent, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch for Matt. With all this talk of recasting and trying to fit one-shot Fairy Tale...

    Best Sesame Albums

Quick question (sorry to divert the discussion): In this version of the photo used for SS1, Grover is posing behind the mailbox with Ernie and Bert. But strangely, I can't see him in the actual photo used for SS1. Does it have to do with the camera angles used for each shot?

The... -wait fer it-... "What made you laugh today?" Thread

Similarly, I read an article in the NY Times about how vinyl records are making a comeback. The final quote is pretty funny and relates to what D'Snowth was saying...

    Best Sesame Albums

B&E Sing-A-Long is a true classic (with props to Joe Bailey for writing the dialogue), but I have a place in my heart for the 1971 Alphabet Album. I still have it on a cassette tape, and listened to it nearly every day as a kid. Honorable mentions: the first two cast albums, "Having Fun with...

"Muppets...Again" officially retitled to "Muppets Most Wanted"

Yes! This is a better title than "Muppets...Again." I do admit that I liked the slight tongue-in-cheek irreverence that came with the first title. But "Muppets Most Wanted" is an improvement nonetheless due to the interpretations that JimandFrank mentioned.

    When you need to rant...

So I watch The Voice on NBC. It's that singing competition show with four famous musicians (Adam Levine, Shakira, Usher, & Blake Shelton) who serve as judges and coaches. What bugs me is: how did the Swon brothers manage to beat out Judith Hill, Sara Simmons, AND Sasha Allen?! Is country music...

New Muppet movie in development for potential 2013 release

Wow! I actually mentioned that exact possibility in "The Missing Link Hogthrob" thread in Classic Muppets. I wondered what it would be like if Steve performed Link, Matt Vogel played Dr. Strangepork, and Eric played Miss Piggy. But that might be all we see of the PIS characters except Piggy. If...

    Funniest Wackiest Zaniest Sesame Sketches

I also like the SS disco segments. Heck, I own the "Sesame Disco" album from 1979! The ones that stand out are Grover's alphabet disco ("Are you ready for the KING, girls?") and Cookie Monster's Shaft parody, both brilliant performances by Frank Oz. "In and Out Disco" is very funny as well. I...

    Funniest Wackiest Zaniest Sesame Sketches

Jerry and Frank doing what they did best. The ending is especially wacky, with Dr. Rainbrain running around like a maniac. And the Count is standing there nonchalantly, like "No big deal. I get to count backwards in Transylvanish, it's all good."

New Muppet movie in development for potential 2013 release

That's true. GMC, in my opinion, outdid TMM in terms of plot development and puppet-related technology (the bike ride in the park, Piggy's water ballet scene, the broken bed gag, multiple vehicles being driven by the Muppets). So in some cases, with the right people involved, a follow-up movie...

The 11th Annual Sesame Workshop Benefit Gala

I wonder who was performing Elmo? Kevin's long gone, so I would assume that it's Ryan Dillon...good to see Cookie & the Count as well. I suppose David Rudman & Matt Vogel weren't needed for the filming of "The Muppets...Again."
