Glad you had such a nice time for your birthday! :)
And that restaurant sounds like the one called Arnold's on "Happy Days" with the 50's theme and juke box. Wonder if that's what they had in mind.
Moderately chilly again, high of 55 and windy. Next week supposed to be more seasonable in the 60's. If the wind is also lessened, it will make for quite a nice weather period.
Happy Birthday pal. And wow, your milestone #21. Congratulations!
I was just looking at this old thread where I mentioned my new job being less than a mile away and you posted:
Well, you were so right. Even though there haven't yet been many good walking weahter days since November, even...
Don't take it personally, jeffkjoe. He's been rude before here. I'd bring that post to a monitor's attention though, because that is uncalled for and against the rules here.
And I must add that I have seen a lot of posts from you, jeff, on classic Sesame Street. And you are clearly a very...
I never knew that one either. And yes, Bert storms out in anger at the end of the hilarious checker game skit. Ernie prompted him to leave the premises on other occasions too, such as that one where Bert was feeling a little chilly and Ernie goes bonkers putting all these winter clothes on Bert...
Brrrrrrr, we're continuing the cold and very windy rut but even more so today. It's only 46 and feels a lot colder with the gusty winds.
Wow, just checked the current temp in Minneapolis. It's 61! Philly is 15 degrees lower than Minneapolis right now! Say it ain't so! Heh heh, well glad for...
Hey check this out Martin! I just read this in an article which mentions the very point you made about putting the number of the day before the number of the month:
"For much of the world, especially Europe, this odd line-up of numbers doesn't really happen until next month. That's because...
True, but 01,02,03,04,05,06 (which is especially neat) won't happen again for another century.
I do recall living through 8/8/88 and 9/9/99 and hearing about it on the news back then. Those were kind of neat too. Don't think I heard about 7/7/77 at the time, though. Must be neat too for those...
Hey there Nickmeister!
Haha, I just found the old thread called, "Threads with a lot of posts".
Here's what I said back in September:
"All 37 of my threads flop. The most posts a thread of mine has is "NFL 2005" with 32. And I made 16 of those posts! But, since the NFL season just...
Good way of putting it, Martin! And yes, I noticed that too, furryred. :)
In fact, it made me remember a thread someone started once about what is your most successful thread. I remember at the time observing how most of my threads got few replies. Well I checked a little bit ago at the...
There's been many ziffels pulled on posts before, but I think this is the first ever ziffeling of a thread. Wow, historical moment! Even beats the time there was a quintuple ziffel! Kee hee hee hee hee! :p
Oh cool! I pulled a Ziffel on Bill Bubble Guy's POST after I pulled a Ziffel on furryredmonster's THREAD! :D
Edit: And while I was saying this just now, furryred and BillBubbleGuy both ziffeled ME! Ahhhhh!
Just heard an interesting thing:
A little past midnight tonight, at 2 minutes and 3 seconds past 1AM, the time and date will be 01,02,03,04,05,06. (1:02:03 AM on April 5th, 2006). And this won't happen again for a hundred years. Nevertheless, I don't think I'll set my alarm to wake myself up...
Just viewed a 4 minute clip of Jim Henson on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson on youtube (Just put "Henson on Tonight Show" in the search space). Someone put it there last night. Says it was from 1974. He was holding and talking for Kermit. Kermit sings "It's not easy bein' green" and...
And now that the NCAA basketball season is over and Major League baseball has begun, I thought I'd start a thread for any comments about this season as it goes along.
Well, I was glad to see my Yankees started off with a 15-2 rout in Oakland! And the Philadelphia Sillies (er... Phillies) got...
Well another lopsided game. I was really surprised UCLA couldn't stay close with them, considering every one of their six losses this year were close games. And interesting how Florida won their first 17 games and their last 11 but in between had a 5-6 slump. Well Muppets Rule, at least we can...
We're back to chillier weather here now, with the temp only topping off at 55. Also, it is VERY windy. But at least it is sunny with a beautiful blue sky. So a pretty day to look out from the window but not real fun to be outside in.
If it is from the early or mid 70's it's one I just don't have any memory for. So maybe it's 1977 or later.
I didn't ever notice it before but just went to youtube and viewed the clip and looked for it. I see it occurs just before Ernie reaches Bert's bed. :)
It kind of looks like what we...
