Yes, there's good reason for optimism for the success of W-Mil. in the future years. Just like Gonzaga who we never used to hear from until about 1999 when they became a tournament regular.

Whew what a close one for 'Nova! That was real nerve-racking but they managed to hang on! I feel pretty good about their chances against Boston College this Friday but it should still be another dog fight.

And veering off to the NFL for a moment: So Terrell Owens is now a Dallas Cowboy. Well I guess Jerry Jones either wants to destroy his winning chances or he is just plain stupid. Terrell will badmouth Parcells. He will badmouth Drew Bledsoe. He will badmouth the whole team. He will be late for practices. He may even demand more money again! Already Terrell is being obnoxious and arrogant by boasting of the deal he just got from Dallas. I believe he is a mental case and thus that it is not possible for him to "behave". Nice going, Dallas. And just as you are coming off a season of improvement! I'm just glad my Redskins didn't sign him. Because I could not possibly ever clap for such an idiot. It'll be fun when he comes to Philadelphia and hearing the loudest boos of all time.

Agreed on T.O. He is the poster child for obnoxious spoiled athletes. What I find funny is he wasn't happy in a pass-happy offense like Philly and yet he'll be happy in a run-oriented offense like Dallas? I don't see this remaining a happy relationship very long.

I'm pulling for your 'Nova team, Ziffel.

Thanks Muppets Rule. BC is gonna be a challenge but hopefully Nova shoots well enough to advance.
And good point about the Eagles liking the pass game far more than Dallas does. Further illustrates that Terrell went to the Cowboys only because they offered the highest salary.

Another one down. What a great game against BC and a great win for Villanova. Keep it rolling against the gators. Should be another tight game, they are big and athletic. Good luck Ziffel.

Big and athletic indeed! And Nova met their downfall and Philly has been in mourning since last night - March Madness became March Sadness!
That was quite a nice squeaker against BC, and making the elite 8 was a good feat, but we were hopeful all year for a national championship. Have to play the 1985 tapes against Georgetown once again!

What really hurts is that Nova was so much in the driver's seat, since all the toughest competiton like Duke, UConn, and Memphis all lost. Well, of the final four left I'd like to see LSU play George Mason. Course if Florida takes it all then at least Villanova can say they lost to the championship team!

April 2007: Villanova vs. Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the final!

I'll take that but it's a little more realistic for you than me. Things were set up very nicely for Villanova with all the top teams knocked out earlier. I really haven't seen Florida play this year until they beat my UWM but I was really impressed. I can see them winning it all.

I guess I always have my Wisconsin Badger hockey team. They are in the Frozen Four after a simply incredible 1-0 triple-overtime win over Cornell yesterday. Over 100 total saves and only one goal scored. The players were so exhausted in the third overtime they were literally crawling off the ice on shift changes. Both teams left all they had out on the ice.

GO BADGERS!!!

Yeah that's right, Florida did in your UWM too. So if Florida wins it all we can both at least take solace in that our teams lost to the BEST. Still, I hope Florida gets bumped off by Mason. That'd be pretty fun seeing an eleventh seeded team winning the whole thing.

Well the two final four games last night were pretty lopsided. Hopefully the final game tomorrow night between Florida and UCLA will be more of a thrilling game. Too bad the game doesn't start until 9:21pm est though! Since I have to get up for work early Tuesday morning, my plan is to tape it and watch it before going to work Tuesday morning (being able to fast forward through commercials and halftime).
I predict Florida will win but by a close margin. The current line is UCLA by just 1.5 points.

Yea, the semi-final games were anti-climatic and almost boring. Hopefully, the championship game will be closer. Seeing how you went with Florida, I'll say UCLA wins a close game. They play great defense and should squeek out a 3 point win. Last year my UWM team got knocked out by eventual runner-up Illinois. This year it will be eventual runner-up Florida.

Well another lopsided game. I was really surprised UCLA couldn't stay close with them, considering every one of their six losses this year were close games. And interesting how Florida won their first 17 games and their last 11 but in between had a 5-6 slump. Well Muppets Rule, at least we can say that it took the BEST team to oust our teams!
