Hmmm...why did I just think of "Kermit's Swamp Years" when I read that?;)
Okay, I'm going to say it: How the Grinch Stole Christmas. No, not the classic special, the movie with Jim Carrey. Remember when that came out? It was so hyped up, it had merchandise you couldn't believe! There were...
Exactly! The overexposure is what grates on parents' nerves (and the nerves of us old school fans).
Elmo can be more than a one-note tickle machine, but SW doesn't seem to want that. There have been some moments where Elmo gets angry, scared or frustrated just like a kid would. The Rocko...
I think this is the key thing here. If this were 1981, we wouldn't be having this conversation. Back then, Kermit and Piggy were all over the place. Once they switched TMS's time slot in the UK to a kid's time slot and people got mad that they couldn't see the show, so they changed it back...
Prawnie's just hiding because he heard Bill counting and thought we were all playing hide and seek. (looks under monitor). Nope, not there. (Looks in the drawer). Nope, not there either. (Lifts mouse). Nope...hmmm... Prawnie's a good hide and seek player!:)

I'm surprised no one has mentioned The Dark Crystal or Labyrinth yet, with this being a Muppet Forum and all.
The critics (and public) saw The Dark Crystal, pretty much gasped as one, said "This...this is Jim Henson's movie? Where's Kermit? Where's Piggy?" (Points to a Skeksis on the...
I wondered that, too. I think that's why they had Caroll stay on SS, so that they'd always have a Muppeteer to do street scenes. I wouldn't be surprised if Jim had thought of that in advance. "Hmmm...there's a great new show I want to do, but we need some performers to be here on Sesame...
I got one for you...
I've been working on an exhibit about Sesame Street for our library. One of the things I built was a 3D Baker. He's in mid-fall, the 10 chocolate cakes are splattered everywhere on the stairs, there's printouts of the numbers on the stairs with a huge 10 at the top of the...
Wha...? Never heard of Snooki? I have! Good grief, I want him to have a cameo in the movie! I'm sure he could help everyone on the movie set go through their lines.;)
But here's a question for Mr. Lewis (if it hasn't been asked already):
We know that Beaker's speech has a lot of "Mee mee...
I was a member here during the old Delphi days, then took a hiatus, then back again a few years ago.
Yeah, the old Delphi days were filled with a lot of fighting. I even remember Jerry Nelson commenting on one long debate about new vs. old Sesame Street. It was simply "sigh...(sound of...
Actually, I've done of the lot of those things you've suggested. They've been in the works for a while. (I have a Richard Hunt file I'm going to work with today). The only thing I haven't included that you suggested is a Cecille replica and the mistakes/goofs. Oscar already appears somewhere...
Oh, now I get what you mean with the milk cartons. No, I'll just have the one for Proto-Gordon.
Actually, most of what you suggested will be mentioned in the exhibit. Sesame Street News, Forgetful Jones, the best remembered moments from the show, all that stuff. I have a lot of images from...
I mention Roosevelt in one picture that features the four Gordons (heh, sounds like a band. 'Ladies and gentlemen, the Four Gordons!') Roosevelt's one of my faves and he'll be in there somewhere. Never seen a sketch with Leslie Mostly. I looked her up, but don't know where she'd fit.
I'll...
Well folks, it's been a while since I've posted about this. The exhibit is still coming along nicely. I'm typing this with smudges of dried paint on my fingers. I'm on my break and I'm in the middle of painting the Baker.
For one of my 3D pieces, I built a set of stairs out of foam board...
Just FYI, I heard a while ago that Caroll doesn't get online much (or maybe he was having trouble with his computer?), so it wouldn't be a bad idea to print this thread out and snail mail it to him...or if you can call him, read it to him over the phone. However you can work it out, just get...
That's right, Big Bird is very complex. Still, with the character as important to the show as Big Bird, you'd think Joey and a few other key writers could study Big Bird, put their heads together and come up with some different stuff. The "Wing in a Sling" story worked very well and I wish there...
They sure did it a lot in the old days. Check this link out from Tough Pigs:

And I quote: "Washing was a huge deal in the early days of Sesame Street; there must have been a ton of stinky kids back then." LOL!
So Joey won't write more for Big...
I remember when they tried that on Sesame Street a couple times. There was a girl...Tarah? She was in a wheelchair. What happened with her is just what you described. She just kind of disappeared from the show after a little while.
There was also a monster named Aristotle who was blind. I...
Was there more than one puppet of him? I saw a Clueless Morgan puppet in 1999 at a "Vision of Jim Henson" exhibit in Bettendorf, Iowa. They also had Polly Lobster and Mad Monty on display, too.
