Okay--I've told everyone muppety that I know and even sent URLs to people and the feeling is universal--you ROCK, sweetie. Amazing art. Lovely, lovely. That you are currently doing this as a labor of love makes your amazing attention to detail that much more impressive.
Stuart, honey, PLEASE...
Hi Sweetie--MARVELOUS artwork. (I sent a couple of links to friends--hope it helps!)
But...but, where's my girl? When do I get to see the Divine Miss P?
Kermit: Thanks for the snack, Ru. Do, um, you need any help cleaning up?
Ru: No, Honey--I'm closing the kitchen till supper. I'm gonna write a little.
Kermit: Oh. Okay.
Ru: What are you gonna do? Are you all unpacked?
Kermit: Oh yeah. Not a lot of wardrobe issues.
Ru: I guess not...
Kermit: Hey Ru, hey Fozzie. Have you seen my--mmm! (sniffing) What's that you're eating, Fozzie?
Fozzie: Um, banana bread, toasted, with butter and honey.
Kermit: Oh, wow.
Ru: Have a seat, honey. You want you're lightly toasted or darkly, um, toasted?
Kermit: Medium, I guess. (Goes to the...
Chapter 85: The Best-Laid Schemes of Frogs and Men
As Piggy had observed, Marty usually had good ideas. Yesterday evening, she had finally been coaxed out of her room with entreaties and a cheesecake, and Kermit and Marty had settled her on the couch and explained their idea to...
Okay--I am FINALLY watching the DVD version of this movie that I only really got to watch when it aired, and by "watch" I mean--it was on, I was in the general vicinity and I was only interrupted about 67 times (during the first 10 minutes). Basically, before today I only really ascertained...
Ru: Robin, Sweetie--how many grilled dragonflies can you eat?
Robin: Gosh, Auntie Ru--I could eat a dozen!
Kermit: Um, save a few for the other frogs, okay Robin?
Robin: Um, Uncle Kermit--aren't you the only other frog here?
Kermit: Um, er, well....
Ru: Smart nephew you got there, Kermit...
Oh, I LOVE squash--there are so many ways to fix it!
I have to say that I just made a so-good-you-want-to-smack-someone salad for supper. Leaf lettuce, a rich beefsteak tomato and fresh cucumbers. We had Italian and Blue Cheese for dressing choices and rolls with butter (okay, oleo) and/or cheese.
Perfect time for this one: Take zucchini and yellow squash and cut them lengthwise in slices. Think long ovals, and not too thin because squash can become tender when cooked. Some folks like them peeled first--either way is good. Soak your slices in Italian dressing, put on the grill and...
Ru: Ow, ow, ow! Paper cut! Paper cut! Ow! (Puts finger in mouth)
Kermit: Here, um, Ru--why don't you let me squeeze the lemons!
Ru: What a guth ideath.
Kermit: Hey Fozzie--can you hand me those crushed mint leaves, please?
Fozzie: Sure thing, Kermit. You want me to fill all the cups with...
(Everything is in a happy tither getting ready for Kathy's pool party. Ru has party food--frog-friendly and, er, people-friendly--and Fozzie has the extra lawn chairs. Kermit has towels and Piggy has, well...herself.)
Piggy: (Emerging from her bedroom in her favorite bathing suit) Moi is...
(Kermit comes in the door and heads straight for the kitchen. Ru is the only one about, but the kettles on the stove are still warm.)
Ru: Pasta with sauce and dragonflies?
Kermit: The hot and spicy kind or the regular kind?
Ru: (sighing) The regular kind.
Kermit: Drat. Yeah--go ahead and dish...
Earlier today:
(Robin is sitting at the table watching Ru heat him up some pasta and sauce.)
Ru: (looking in her spice rack) Okay, Dear One--dragonflies or no dragonflies?
Robin: Um, dragonflies--wait! Are they the spicy kind?
Ru: (reading the jar) Um, no. 'No artificial additives or...
(Passing hat around) Yes, thank you. Yes, we are taking up a collection to send Fleet Scribbler on assignment in Anartica. Or to the wilds of Outer Zanduan. Permanently....yes, we do take checks. Thank you.
Ru: Hey Sweet Stuff--Mommy Kathy said she loves you the whole wide world and back again.
Robin: (supremely confident in his lovableness) Yeah--I know. (He snuggles back down between Kermit and Piggy, who just might have been kissing over the top of his head a minute ago....)
(Room 5 is taking shape. The windows have been opened, the apartment aired, and green-and-white-striped window treatments have been hung over sheers that let in the light and keep out the heat. The two lime-green double-seater recliners are once again front and center for the entertainment...
