Janken went to the "Fraggle Rock Holiday" showing at the Center for Puppetry Arts. As soon as I started walking around with him before the show people went nuts over him. "Can we take a picture?" Like heck I'll say no. The only place in the CPA you can take photos is at the big Pinnocchio legs...
Kim: Hi, Kermit! And Ed and Ru and... well, et cetera. I'd shake hands, but mine are kinda occupied right now.
Janken: Can't I do this by myself? Please?
Kim: Since when can you move by yourself?
Janken: Oh, c'mon, I can in stories. And this is a story. So how about it, huh...
[Cantus looks very puzzled. Last he remembers, he and Rowlf were at the piano.]
Janken: Don't worry about it. They're not big on continuity in these threads.
Huh. I got a batch of Antron fleece from Georgia Stage earlier this year, and I've had no problem at all dyeing it. My Skeeter came out a lovely vibrant orange, and I have a few feet of gray for an upcoming project. It makes me wonder, are some sellers claiming to sell Antron fleece when it's...
By an incredible coincidence, tomorrow I'm going to "A Fraggle Rock Holiday" at the Center for Puppetry Arts, where they will be showing The Bells of Fraggle Rock and The Perfect Blue Rollie.
Rowlf and Cantus have had their heads together over at the piano for some time. Now Rowlf strikes up a tango, which sounds very odd coming from an out-of-tune piano, and Cantus begins to sing in a voice that sounds remarkably like Rowlf's:
"There's a heartache and a memory and just a tear or two...
The reason Brool failed as a warrior is that he simply doesn't have it in him to want to harm others, even if they are from enemy tribes. He broke his leg while fleeing, and when his pursuers saw what had happened they just left him there, figuring that nature would take its course. At the...
Candy by Riyu Kosaka remonds me of Sidebottom. Explosive, wacky energy.
Viva la Vida by Coldplay reminds me of Cantus. Not the words, just the music. I would love to filk that song for him, but I don't have a good hook.
What could make Cantus forget about music, even for a moment?

Spring had finally declared its intention to stay. The icicles had melted, and the stream no longer grew ice around its edges in the night. Green things were pushing...
While all this has been going on, Cantus has expressed an interest in the piano that Rowlf is playing. That leads to a demonstration of how to play, and soon they are playing together, Cantus being rather magical in the field of music.
Quite a good article. The episode list is not a top ten, but list of the most representative episodes. (If it was a top ten, I'd demand why The River of Life wasn't on it.)
Thanks for pointing it out.
Cantus has a cup of punch, but he's much more interested in the wooden box and the creature sitting in front of it than the beverage. The creature is tapping keys on the box's front, making music that sounds like a combination of strings and percussion. How intriguing!
Some time past it was suggested that there could be a wiki for MC fan works. The MLP fandom has one. It seems like something that could be a subsection of a MC wiki.
Cantus: Music comes from without and within. Without what is within, one is without within.
Murray: Practice a lot. If ya wanna practice, you're on the right track.
Brio: [sipping some punch] Hey, it's Whoopee Water!
Janken: Er, that stuff has some extra 'whoop' in it.
[Janken waves the Carolers, better known as the Minstrels in. Cantus enters first, in a dignified manner. Murray, next through the door, slips on the icy patch and is caught by Brool, the third.]
Murray: Thanks. Whew, it's cold enough to freeze your baloobius out there.
(Murray is the...
That CGI test was done a long time ago, and it doesn't look bad. The technology has advanced significantly since then. I think it could work provided they took pains to make it look like hand-animation, complete with line vibration.
