Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
So "Santa Claus in coming to Town", and "Sleigh Ride" better not EVER appear on a video for some other show without copyright notices during the credits. That's for darn sure!!
I love the complete pandemonium during the big production number, with the penquins firing rockets and the Swedish Chef shooting a cannon at Waldo.
I also think it's funny when Beaker gets caught in the machinery,
The cover on this CD is so bland that I bet people pass right by it in the stores. What's so wrong with featuring other classic characters on the cover of DVDs, video tapes and CDs. Why is it always Gonzo, Fozzie, Kermit, Piggy and Animal?
This is off topic, but what's up with all the weird...
I've been a fan of the Muppets ever since my grandfather gave me a Bert doll when I was a baby. However, I didnt become a fanatic until 2000. That gave me just enough to time to prepare myself for the figures. It's like, I get back into the characters, and as soon as I start fantasizing about...
I fully intend to buy at least one version of every different character Palisades puts out. I'll only buy an exclusive if the character variation is one that's actually appeared in a show or a movie. So I did buy the Tuxedo Kermit but I passed on the invisible Beaker. I'll probably skip the...
I love that one part when Fozzie tries to give Kermit a tribute and gets choked up so he shows a montage of clips set to a Linda Rondstat song (Your Love Will Live in my Heart). Then we cut back to the Muppets and everyone, aside from Kermit, is bawling their eyes out. Kermit gives the camera...
Robin: Hey, I think I know where I've seen this Henson guy!
Gonzo: Where?
Robin: ...down there...
Gonzo: Hey! And look, when we move, they move! Try it!
Fozzie: Hey, lets stop looking at them even, it's TOO weird!
In the Muppet Labs scenes from Muppets From Space when the characters move around the lab table, I believe it's possible to see Dave's head underneath Bunson.
Here's a good one I'm sure no one has ever noticed from The Great Muppet Caper, and it has to be a widescreen version of it. Go to...
What do you guys think is the best hour long program to pay tribute to the Muppets?
1) Muppets, a Celebration of 30 Years: great program, hosted by the Muppets themselves. Some rare clips, great jokes from the various presenters, and an appearance by Jim at the end. No behind the scenes...
Well, my TRU got the figures in pretty quick. However, the price for the figures varied in different stores. One TRU had them for $7.99 while another was selling them for $9.97. I think the TRU with the higher price was alittle confused.
Very good point. But Muppets1985 makes it sounds like everything and anything Jim did up until his death was supposed to lead up to the muppets becoming Di$ney property.
As long as we're talking about vehicles, how about the Electric Mayhem bus (TMM, MFS) or the double decker Happiness Hotel bus (GMC). I guess the Hispanola (from MTI) is out of the question, huh?
Either way, any vehicle in the Muppet line will easily beat the shinola out of that pathetic...
Re: Hummmmm...
Woah woah woah! Muppets1985, youve got some really great points here, some I agree with, but you've really gotta slow down man. If you've got something else to do (like you say), than do that first and THEN sit down and take your time to post. You had at least three to four...
YES!!! Thank flippin' goodness.
So...are we gettin MTI in widescreen anytime soon?
Not to veer offcourse or anything, but what makes you so sure Di$ney is going to get the Muppets, Muppets1985? I'd rather they dont, since I know it means lots and lots of direct to video sequals to...
True, but the figure itself looks SOOOOOO much better out of the packaging than in. Dr Teeth, in particular, looks fantastic with his hat on and playing the keyboard.
I basically open everything I buy. I wasnt gonna open the Tuxedo Kermit (I dont buy exclusives unless the figure was...
Well, I dont think Pops and Lips from GMC were any different from the way they were on TMS.
Gonzo, additionally, was not Bob Cratchit. Kermit was. Gonzo was Dickens.
Like Pops and Lips, we can get Bean and Clifford regardless of whether or not Palisades releases movie related figures...
What about the Gonzo seen between 1980 and 1990, the one with the sweater vest, white shirt, courdoroy pants and fancy black and white shoes? Gonzo wore that outfit for about a decade. At least that's how I know Gonzo best. How about you guys?
Yeah, that longer mustache was the only thing that was bugging me about Floyd. I'm happing we're getting a shorter one. So...when are they coming out? October? November? Arrgg, I cant wait!!
